Customs Blacklist - Has anyone shipped to their neighbor?

As some of you might know, I'm in a bit of trouble with the customs office. They have kept my TAG Carrera and B&R in their custody for a week now, so I'm preparing for the fact that the watches are confiscated. It will also mean I would need an alternative address for the re-ship, because a few people comfirmed that once they get you once, the address comes on some kind of blacklist and no rep will arrive anymore.

I'm thinking of using my neighbor's address, as he's a friendly guy who doesn't mind, but I'm not sure whether using the same street is smart.

So, has anyone had stuff shipped to an alternative address in the same street? Has the stuff arrived?

Thanks to all who help me out here. :)

My first two orders from Andrew were stuck in Customs, and came out with additional duties needing to be paid when the watches were picked up. The weird thing is that the 2 shipments left China within a day or two of each other, with one being addressed to my work address, and the other to my home address - and each one got stuck in Customs! They both came out after about a week, with about $100 in taxes due on each package.

Anyway, the point is that I've had dozens of shipments sent to my home address since then, without incident - the same home address that one of Andrew's original packages that Customs opened and assessed taxes on was addressed to.

So in my case, an address which got the attention of Customs officials on one occasion has never had a problem since. Maybe things would have gone differently if the package had been seized in Customs, as opposed to just being opened and coming out with additional taxes attached?

This isn't reading well (it's 9:00 on a Saturday morning here on the west coast - wife & kids went to the in-laws yesterday, so I guess I had too much fun last night), but hopefully it makes sense...

I have a shady mail address and a resdential addy on different streets though...and I alter between the two... My first

multiple order just cleared customs last night...so far so good...maybe by changing the street numbers it would prevent

your name from showing on the computer, if your neighbor is nice enough to let you do that, maybe buy him a watch...

Sorry to hear about your watches...good luck.

Hello,

I'm also from holland and had the same customs problem. Now al my watches are sended by registered airmail, and no problems! But the only thing you have to do is using another name.

I would be surprised if anyone can actually confirm w/ certainty that customs keeps some kind of blacklist when they confiscate counterfeit watches. I would thing a) they're too lazy b) they've got bigger fish to fry and c) they're too incompetent. That said, if you are concerned, I'd suggest having it sent to a PO box in someone else's name or to a relatives place. But seriously, from a logistical stand point I just don't see customs agents staking out your place in an unmarked vehicle waiting for a package from China to show up so they can make you do the perp walk or even keeping a list. I imagine it's more of a DMV type situation. I'd also be more worried about the guy you're buying from being under the eye of any kind of officials and potentially not paying the right people.
