A nice way to end the year for someone, up for sale today is a one off franken project which I poured a lot of work into earlier this year. This watch uses a variety of rep / gen parts that are either no longer available or difficult to find.
The idea behind the build came off the back of my love for the titanium grey dial Breitling released earlier this year in this Chronomat which is a really easy wear for small or large wrists.
The $12,400USD gen price tag was a little overwhelming so I decided to take action into my own hands and get creative.
With thanks to the advice of the great modders on this community who pointed me to the right directions with parts for this build!
This watch has the following:
- GF factory base casing and bracelet (well known, GF factory is now discontinued. Evidence of watch being GF can be seen through the shape of the bezel and lume pip being different to the offerings now available from other factories now)
- Titanium grey dial (ordered separately from BLS factory through TD)
- Gen hands set part no. 500.Z1567 (used as the rep hands dont quite have the “3D” look of gen hands as evidenced in photos / videos below. Old rep hands included in sale)
- Prof 2xAR crystal installed (needs no introduction, I always get this magnificent crystal installed on franken Breitling builds).
- Date mod (done by myself personally, bringing the date flush to the dial)
- Gen rubber strap (part no.300S) with folding clasp
- Gen Box (purchased through eBay)
Watch is in great condition only worn on the rubber strap (bracelet is new).
I've had fun staring at it in my watch box recently and now want it to now go to a new home and get wrist time in 2025.
Price Breakdown:
GF base: 568USD (Note that I purchased for more than this from Instagram dealer who had GF stock a few months back. Listing at 568USD as this is TD price from when GF was around)
Titanium grey dial: 85USD
Gen hands set: 220USD
Prof 2xAR crystal installed: 228USD
Date mod: 140GBP = 175USD
Gen rubber strap (part no.300S) with folding clasp: 110GBP + 24GBP clasp = 134GBP = 169USD
Gen Breitling Box: 70GBP = 90USD
Total = 1535USD
Sale price = 1240USD = 990GBP
(Mods - please note that the -295USD discounted sale price takes into account (-175USD) no charge for the parts / labour for the date mod as this was watch was completed for myself at time of build)
