I'm looking to replace my Clean GMT II crystal with one that has more AR, as its quite shiny imo.

I'm a bit lost on which aftermarket provider would be best for this.

Any recommendations?

Just an answer to smoke's comment about the white glue bead around cyclops. My crystals come back from factory with that thin bead of uv hardened cement around the cyclops. I scrape if off. Only some gen rolex crystals have that bead

Anyone have any comparisons pics? I’ve had a few prof crystals and they have been great. But the deep is half the price. Is it half the quality?

I don't have a prof crystal but I'd say the deep is on par with vsf crystal. vsf my edge it out.

Having had all three in different watches I can say that: Deep<Prof<Gen (nothing beats gen).

That being said, Deep crystals are a great bang for the buck and are in no shape or form half the quality of prof's crystals as like in all things watch related price does not increase proportionally with quality but rather exponentially.

It should be noted that 2AR crystals such as deep or prof's 2AR have an AR coating on the outside that will at some point or another get scratches in anything other than a box queen. In addition, while 2AR crystals may make the dial "pop" more, the general aspect of the watch will depart from gen and will look less shiny overall. A shiny crystal is closer to gen than a 2AR crystal.

If I only wanted a non-shiny 2AR crystal I'd personally go with Deep.

Hope this helps.

Agree 100%. I don't know about GMTs, but on subs VSF crystals are incredibly good for the price.

Yeah I know that the prof 2ar is not gen like but the dial looks so much better. I had one on an OP39 and it made it a joy to look at the watch. I just had a prof crystal installed on my VSF DJ36 and I’ll let you know what I think when I get it back

Also the scratches in AR are overstated IMo. I had an omega seamaster with double AR coating and the outer AR was all scratched up BUT you could only see the scratches if you held the watch at a precise angle in the right light, otherwise the crystal just disappeared.
