I got the caseback off and have the right screwdriver for the job but it won't losen up the screw to get the crown off this 47mm Marina Militare. I'm tryin my hand at a little vintage test and need to drop the movement to do this. Any ideas?

Once the set lever screw is slightly loosened the stem should come out easily, at least that's been my experience. There shouldnt really be any trick to it.

Is the stem pushed in all the way prior to loosening the screw? Also you don't want to loosen it too much.

Hmm that's kind of strange. So if the screw is tight, are you still able to wind and set the watch hands??

This will sound silly but make sure you are turning the right screw. :D

You mean the one I can't turn,,,,,lol.
It's the screw that's right by the edge of the casing but not one of the case screws.
Having trouble turning those as well though.

Pull the crown out to the time setting stage, turn the screw nearest to the crown stem 1/2 turn out...pull stem out...W#hen you're done, reinsert stem to the same position, tighten screw...If this is too complicated, see your local watchsmith!

Yep, this is what I'm trying to do but looks like I have to make a trip to the man.
