Shave down your crown guard a few thou. That will tighten up your "snap".

Cheap and easy way to do it is buy an new stem and make it stick out further but it makesit look less accurate.

Or buy a new cg like a toro with a longer tip that accomadtes for a deep dish

Torro's CG levers come long which is nice but a pain to find the "right" length where you still get the correct snap and not put too much pressure on the stem and keyless works. Gen crowns can be turned with the lever engaged, and the snap is smooth and not too loud. It took about an hour and a half to find the right length for my lever. I choose not to make mine too tight since the last thing you want to do is put too much pressure on the crown and snap the stem, which would suck, and if you want a little tighter snap you can add a thicker gasket to the crown.

I got 1 idea, but don't know it work or not. that is add 1 plate on the deep dish, use super glue or something similar. U wont see the crown dish as it is too small to notice. hope u like my idea. =)

wow, great ideas.. i thot of e "plate" method but my crown kinda sticks out so e plate wld be obvious.. well, my pam alr has a Toro CG.. so i guess i can only file e CG a lil bit down.. it isnt sitting very well anw.. tired searching for tuts on how to file e CG e best way but cant seem to find it.. i'm afraid if i file it on its own i might end up filing it too much..

nothing as good as the pro-mods here but here goes...

i read thru some of the tutorials here and didnt want to file any further cos the guard seemed to be pressing on the stem quite abit..

*edit: i could do with a flatter CG pin but i'll deal with that later..now just need a proper dial*

You can start by grinding the CG feet a little, but not too much as it will look ugly. If that's not enough, you need to get a longer stem and add one or more o-rings to insure some kind of dust/waterproofness.

In my country it's also very hard to find, so I buy them on ebay (http://stores.ebay.fr/timebymail). Just use a caliper for the size.

About the grinding, I would avoid it without a dremel or similar tool.

I would try adding another O-ring, it seems to be the simplest solution.
How tight should the lever be? The gens make a nice snap when depressed, and you can still turn the crown.

y.? I find e dremel or a similiar tool might be too much.?as I'd prob only be sanding e CG down a lil bit..

I've seen a dremel-like tool for sale at a hardware store just 2 weeks ago for 20 euros :)
