I was wondering if someone can point me to a dealer that carries a 1:1 CG for a 111H.
If its possible and enough people are interested, I can arrange a groupbuy with the recommended dealer.

Thanks to all in advance.

finepics?

i believe finepics and some folks on another forum (rwg?) were having 1:1 h style cg's made at about $100 a pop.

fyi, davidsen's cases and cg's are not 1:1, at least not with h series pams. everything from lug thickness, case thickness, and CG thickness is smaller...some significantly smaller (believe me, i have davidsen watches and i have gen 111h and other gens as well). the davidsen cases and cg's are not 1:1. they are smaller in almost every dimension. my gen 111h wears bigger than any rep i have in thickness, CG, lug thickness, etc.

the interesting thing about the gen h series CG (for historica luminors that is) is that it actually flares out so the portion farthest from the crown is thicker than than the portion closest to the crown/watch case. i tried to draw out what i mean below. so when you look at the CG from the side view of the watch, it is almost as thick as the watch case itself! this is what makes it look beefy and beautiful...and what no other rep i've seen to date has.

i tried to draw a picture as it's difficult with my lack of photo skills to show. this is a side view of the watch. the arrows show how the vertical thickness of the CG is greater at the outer edges, farthest away from the watch case...i hope that's what it shows :)

the reps don't do a good job with this, and tend to have "flat" CG's, and certainlly not as thick as gen H CG.

DSN 44mm PAM CG wouldn't fit standard rep case without modifications, sorry.

I am looking for a decent Ti crown guard lever as mine is very thin. Any ideas?

@panman8888
nice drawing mate :) I'd just add that the bottom of the current gen CG is dead flat, not curved :)

cheers,

now the whole world knows i got an "f" in art class. :) and my art is better than my photography...scary, eh!

so yes, looking at 000h now, and it's flat on bottom though i drew the bottom curved. it is the top that actually slopes up and out from the watch case.

It's good to know. I don't know why I didn't notice that last time I was at Shreve... which was only about
a week ago... I should observe more carefully next time.

Joe.

Yes sir. That's the Shreve I went to check out some PAMs. They never have that many though.
The dealer who showed me the watches was a member of Panersti and told me I should join their club.
I was thinkin... hmm... I don't really own any :)

hmm..nice pic! conveyed the message clearly. I will get in touch with finepics and have a look. Although $100 is a bit pricey..I am very close to finishing my semi-perfect pam!

Thanks guys for the info! Learned something today!
