hey guys,

this is my first post here on rwi, so I want to say hello first. I am a member here for some time and during this time I have learned a lot about both, rep and gen wachtes. I want to comliment you on this great forum and your way dealing with other members, even if they are noobs and ask stupid questions. ;-)

But now enough of brownnosing, let' s come to my problem
After you had infected me with the rep-virus I bought an ap royal oak 15300 witch a swiss ETA 2824-2 from pt. I was very happy with it but after some time I noticed the crown coming out though it was screwed. I haven't thought too much about it and pushed it inside again.
Today I wanted to set the time and the whole crown came out.
The watch is still running.

What do you think could be the defect, perhaps a broken winding stem?
Do you think I can fix it on my own, or should I go to a watchsmith? In that case how much would it probably cost?

Thanks, aproo

Most likely the crown thread wears off,
And some problem with the keyless.

This sounds like a easy fix the stem just poped out of the keyless works Try placing the crown back in while rotating like your winding the stem if this doesn't stick it back in place you need to repair the keyless works. Ive done my share keyless works repair. Keyless works are easly screwed up, you have to be gentle with them, and it Sounds like the keyless system never engaged the crown and is staying disengaged. Easy fix..... For me.:D
