This is nucking futs when you can probably get a second hand gen close to twice that price or less.

Do I understand correctly it uses the original gen movement??

I don't like that watch, but I have no problems paying $225 extra for a GEN Swiss ETA. In fact, I bought my Rolex Deepsea specifically from BK because he, among other improvements, installs a GEN Swiss ETA right from the get-go.
