Hi

I recently brought this franck muller movement online. The seller didnt know if the movement is working or if its dead. Could someone be kind enough to identify the movement for me? Also could you confirm if the movement is genuine. Also the seller said that the platinum rotor is missing :( Ive attached close up pictures. Can anyone tell me if any parts are missing or broken on the movement? I assume i can put a normal gen eta rotor on without any problems? Also does anyone have the expertise to test this movement out to see if it is actually working or not? The movement is for a franck muller master banker watch. The worst thing was that the seller wrapped the movement up in tissue paper and then tightly wrapped it up in cling film and placed in a bubble wrap envelope. When i took the movement out, the hands were bent :( just hope the movement didnt get damaged through the post. Anyway im based in the uk. Many thanks

I believe its just an ETA 2892 with the missing platinum rotor. . .

EDIT: On second thought I dont know if the master bank model is based on the 2892. . . You should be able to tell if its working by simply hand-winding it, doesnt matter if it has a rotor to test the rest of the movement. . . I believe. . .

Thats 28 series ETA if it;s standard then will be 2892 if GMT then 2893 if Chrono then 2894. The rotor from a Seagull power reserve movement will fit if you can't find an ETA item

If it's gen, it took a helluva beating ... Do you know why it was separated from the watch in the first place?

Thanks for the info. Much appreciated. Ive added pictures of the front of the movement. Its got a dial attached to it already.

I know its such a shame :( I honestly dont know why people do these things to expensive watch movements. Its a such a nice movement. I think someone much have took it out from the watch for the platinum rotor.

I was angry when the movement arrived wrapped in cling film and put in a lightly padded envelope.

Here is the front of the movement. The dial is beat up very badly, but if the movement works, im going to install a gen dial onto it.
