yea. it sold for 755. not bad honestly considering those movements usually go for $1000+ easy.

i wish i knew how to do a build.

im just now at a point where i can do little mods here and there.
easy fixes. keyless works and other minor things comfortably.

BC, I didn't know how to do anything except to set the time and date and wind my watches a couple years ago, but since being here and reading all the awesome tutorials, and the great members here guiding me through some things I've learned a lot. I'm just glad that now I don't have to send my watch off to be fixed for absolutely everything. there's some things I can do on my own. and sure I've messed some stuff up and had to send it in to be fixed, but I guess that's part of learning too. but I just picked up another couple watches to practice on and I think that's a great thing to do too. Have a few cheapies that you can mess around with and practice.

yea. im slowly getting there. making my mistakes but learning.
ruined a perfectly good 6497 the other day but i did take the whole thing apart after it broke just to peek around.

when i first joined this forum, i was terrified to take the stem out of a watch and even broke a few keyless works before i even knew thats what it was called.
now, i can pop it out and get to work like i know what im doing.

i can at least now take the movement/dial out of a watch and give it a good clean when i get it from dealers now. get the fingerprints, dirt, hair..etc out of the dial.
i did put the keyless back together on a 6497 the other day before it broke so i learned that. lol

ive learned quite a bit on this forum.

ive also messed up a quite a few things too.

hahaha yea in most cases, i would prob buy a gen vs franken but if you have the skills, i would think putting your own watch together would be way more satisfying than just buying one.
i think paps franken moonie cost him like $2500 or so. sure a gen could be had for less but he knows every part of that watch and it has a story. its a heirloom piece to be handed down.

i think if i had the skills, i would only buy parts and put my own watches together.
