Hi all together,

some years ago i read about converting RLX 1575date movement to 1575GMT.
There are to ways to convert. One low level method, which is rubbish…..placing a 24h
wheel somewhere ;)
The other one is the high level method. Replacing the parts with the correct GMT parts.

Some month ago i bought a 1570date movement with hacking second.
I was thinking about another 1680 build….but i already have three 1680 with gen movement.

I remembered the GMT converting and that a 1675 GMT Master is something like a holy grail for me. So i decided to convert the 1570date to 1570GMT. I startet looking for the parts in middle of december 2024. The last part arrived last weekend.

The work is done :)

But one thing i did not found…..The date disc retainer ring…..RLX Part 7965.
It‘s impossible to find it. So i decided to make a little spacer washer to mount it between
movement and 1570date date disc retainer ring. The spacer is nearly 0,16mm thick.

And here are the parts which i replaced at weekend to get a 1570GMT

And here‘s the 1570GMT:

And the part list for GMT:

8034 Calendar wheel
8030 Center wheel with cannon pinion
8036 Date jumper
8039 Hour wheel
8040 24 Hour wheel
7965 Calendar spacer (impossible to find)
8038 Center second pinion 5.70mm
8035 Calendar wheel nut

The 1675 case set i ordered :)
And now i am searching for a 1675 dial and handset.

Kind regards to all of you.

This is awesome! I’ve been wanting to do the same 1565 gmt conversion so keep us updated on your progress. With regards to the spacer washer, did you have to you any specialty watchmaker tools to make it? Thanks!

The washer ring was made by a company which is specialised in laser cutting. They made the washer with 0,2mm thickness. I drilled the holes and cut it out at the two areas.

i always use mq or rubys.
This is my first GMT build. I ordered a rubys 1675 case set with custom serial.
I hope that the measurement of tube thread is matching gen, because i have gen 503 crown and tube for
1675….
Tracking says that it will come middle of next week……depend on german customs…..

So far so good..... currently the vietnam tube is mounted with gen crown.
For the gen tube i have to recut the thread in the case. It is a 2,4mmx0,35 thread....i had to order a matching thread cutter.....

Really good work! You’ve inspired me to do the same, but with a 1560 movement. I’ve got all the parts to convert the movement to a 1565 GMT, with the exception of the date indicator seating.
