Very good performance. No failure rate for me. Keeping time +/- 5 secs a day on average. Owning 3 of such movement from February.

Yeah! I am ready to test it out!!! Waiting for my piece :D So far this movement looks very promising. In fact generally, it is relatively easier to copy than an automatic movement.

For sure Sir! I will fit it with a set of 177 hands that comes with my watch to see the result. Also, maybe someone daring enough to take the canon pin and swap it with your current Swiss movement which has short canon pin :p

I am working on that too.

Cn movt suppleir is reluctant to sell only the XL kit to me.

May be I will have to tailor makk it by inveting soem moudling.

do you think there is big enough demand for that kind of kit?

Just and FYI. Mine that was reviewed and serviced on TRC by ziggy does not wind anymore. Rob says this is now a common problem. I have not sent it to him for more work yet - but I will soon. It is STUCK in the time change position. By that I mean I can pull and push the crown but I cannot get a wind position.

@enzo: I agree with the possibility of this movement having a few variations. The 3 that I own are all with CdG pattern without the swan neck regulator. I have seen another one which has PANERAI logo engraved all over the movement (possible sticked plate not engraved straight to the movement) also without swan neck regulator. I am waiting for the XL long pin CN6497-2 from david. He sent it today by airmail.

Sorry, I was trying to figure out which model Panerai rep the movement was in that C_J was having problems with. If it was a 183 I could sort of understand the problem since the crown must be unscrewed and then pushed back in when winding or setting. If the problem is occuring with the standard 111 type crowns and cases, I was wondering exactly what was going on.

I don't mean to veer to far off of the topic - but is there a thread that describes each type movement that are presently available in reps? I think that would be handly for us 'freshman' to a degree.

Whoa - you've had some rotten luck lately mate. Also interested to hear comments on the movement failure above. I'm due to receive my first CN 6497 from EL this week. Hope it proves more robust: or it's back to the Swiss!
