Definitely possible but will be rather pricey. Jakob is charging $235 for custom casebacks that he has templates of. I can only imagine how much it would cost to have him make a completely custom caseback. Not worth for something that you don't even see when you wear the watch IMO.

Double-edged sword though, right?

Anyone who knows it well enough is going to realize the CB should be display not closed. Anyone who doesn't know it well enough couldn't tell the difference between the gen movement and the A7750, anyway.

In a sense you are making the watch even less accurate to cover an inaccuracy.

Mmmmm I tend to disagree. If you slap a custom caseback you can just say you had it done especially for you making the watch even more special. Plenty or paneristi do things like that to their watches, be it custom casebacks, special coatings or whatever. I'd do it and have my signature on there like a slytech, or something like that but I'm too cheap to shell out that much cash really

Of course fabricating a story like that to cover your fabrication of a caseback to cover the inaccurate fabrication and replication of the movement seems like a great idea.

You're making it sound stupid. All you say is "I had a special caseback done for me". I'd rather do that than start sweating my arse off every time someone asks if he/she could take a look at the watch

Just pulling your chain, Q. My point is if you are going to sweat that much over it if called out, that's not the rep you want to be passing off anyway. Unless you hang with a bunch of 'Ristis, no one will notice the movement. And if you do, they'll call it out on your wrist long before they flip it over.

Wear it and enjoy it!

YES! tt was e intended idea.. but it may just look like a normal pam close caseback but customed with names, sigs, phrases, etc etc..

i kinda thot i wanted to make it a special model for myself.. but i wanted to share e idea around with those who wana get it but fear mvmt being called out, etc..

Emailed Jakob. That idea got me thinking TBH and if the price is right I might do it. I asked him if I can get a completely custom caseback with my signature and name engraved. Maybe some other stuff on there as well. Will keep you posted as to what's the price mate

Finding it hard to see what all the fuss it about really. Its a rep why try to pull it off that its not ,if pushed.
A CB for the same price of the watch seems a bit nuts. How many time have you given you watch to someone , let alone they knew what they were looking at. People who I've shown rep Crystal display backs to have always been impressed and never had any idea it was a rep. I had a 1950 with no swan neck. I show people it all the time, seriously noone gives a damn , and if they do "fec'kem". Just my 2 cents. Each to his own. But as was already said, if your gonna sweat it, t'aint the rep for you

It's not about fooling people. Anyone who knows what they're looking at will be able to spot it's a rep be it with an open caseback or a closed one. It's about taste, at least for me. I just couldn't live with that ugly movement. It looks effin ugly. Even if I don't get a custom caseback I will probably tint the damn crystal so I can hardly see the movement

as i mentioned earlier, it was actually an idea i came up with cux e 359 is a special pam to me, in a sense.. tts y i wanted to customise e caseback, to make it tt little more unique, to me.. &i thot i shld share it with all, in case some get too peeved with how e mvmt looks, as option for them..
