Yeah.... He was wearing a Ti Pam 089, (anthracite dial, looks silver to black depending on light conditions) a watch that he has been sporting for years.
It is a nice, easy to match watch.

I have to agree with the sentiment above, I used to be a big fan of Bill Clinton, and of this watch, but seeing them together while BC bloviates has turned me off to both him and the watch.

And I have spent some serious time modding my own 089

Ugh. Now I'll have to refuse my PAM when it shows up at the door. ;)

Didn't like him as Prez, but love the guy as a person! If he wears a PAM, than that makes me love the brand that much more!

I like Panerai watches but when you see the some of the people that wear them, it's a bit of a turn off. I think secretly some Pannie owner like the Hollywood stigma that is attached to their watch.

Uh oh!

Cybee,
I agree with you 100%. They are very nice watches and alot of the price is all marketing. Hey, whatever works to sell.
But, if BC wants to wear a Pam or anything that is his right and that shouldn't influence your taste.
He also wears AP! AND if THAT isn't a Hollywood watch brand than what is.

I actually thought it looked kind of silly on him. It just didn't look right. Perhaps he should have gone for something dressier.

Oh God the hammer will come down I'm sure. But Pams are just not dressy looking to me.

Yep, agree. you'd get the same effect by strapping a cuckoo clock to your wrist.

Deciding *not* to wear a watch because someone else endorses it is just as silly as deciding to wear it because someone else does, IMO.

I think Radiomirs are easily "dressed up", but feel free to disagree.

some good opinions here as to whether PAMS are dressy or not.
i think Clinton's Pam did look a little out of place with his typical suit, maybe because it was so obvious on his wrist.
i was just so proud of myself that i spotted it.
definitely, to each his own, and you need to wear what you like not what other people like.

I laugh if it was a rep... LOL! We know or maybe just assume it's not. Personally think anything with a leather band that is fairly thick on the wrist isn't that dressy. Steel or gold bracelet watches look much more dressy imo. Of course the overall design will sway that theory either way. Rolex DD and DJ, Cartier, Breitling with bracelets all look very dressy to me. Patek are one of the only non bracelet exceptions for me. The white gold moon phase really turns me on!!!!!!
