Hi ladies & gents,
I recently made a purchase of a Clean Factory Rolex Daytona 116519LN from JTime, and thought I would make a contribution to this wonderful community by posting my review accompanied by honestly quite frugal attempt at photography, as even though I have been a member of this forum for quite some time and made a few replica purchases as well as owning some gen's, I have admittedly contributed quite little so far, so here goes...
After much trial and tribulation, and being fortunate enough to have made some decent bee's & honey off the soon to crash markets and recent crypto craze (please don't invest now, be patient for 6-8 months and thank me later), I decided to jump the gun and make some horological investments.
I was fully committed to buy a gen, but alas, in the day and age we live in, it no longer matters if you have the economic capacity to do so with certain brands, and after having gone to 3 or 4 Rolex dealers, both in my home country and in the Middle East where I frequently travel, it was unfortunately not possible. So I thought to myself "**** them* and decided to re-enter the world of replica's after many years, re-study all the new factories, models. who's better and what and so on, and purchase my much desired watch - the Rolex Daytona 116519LN (currently on secondary markets for around $45k).
And then I bought a gen watch, but more on that later..
As far as I recall there are two "tier 1" options for the Rolex Daytona 116519LN - by "Tier 1" (my own grading with absolutely no scientific fundament) I mean they have the same dimensions as gen (thickness particularly) and a fully working Chronograph - one from the Noob factory which is slightly more expensive (and from what I understand the OG's when it comes to this level of replica) and one from Clean Factory (this factory did not exist back in 2012 when I made my first replica purchase).
Finally I decided to go with the Clean Factory, simply because it was slightly cheaper and from the pictures I could not tell the difference from the Noob versions.
After reading reviews of the TD's I made my decision to go with JTime (don't know how to do a shoutout, but he/they deserve one). Fully recommended service, just as good as buying a 5k watch off Chrono24. No complaints on my side, but this is a watch review and not a TD review. Anyway kudos to JTime. Excellent.
So here go the pictures. Please excuse my pictures for you pro's out there, but hopefully they sufficiently compliment the review:
Sorry for dumping all the images at once, but I'm a noob at forums.
MY OWN PERSONAL THOUGHTS ON THE WATCH SUBJECT TO ALL YOUR INSIGHTFUL CRITICISM:
- Buying process (10/10): As previously mentioned, the purchase through JTime was easy, painless and professional. Obviously it takes some time to receive the watch in Europe, but come on guys be patient, this isn't Amazon. They are putting in an order to a factory in China, receiving it, doing a QC for you, sending you HQ pictures and videos and even testing it with a precise machine to measure the accuracy of the movement. You can't really ask for more. Took about a month and a half in total. 10/10.
- Dial (9/10): Honestly, I am blown away by the quality and finishing of the watch. The dial is spectacular. It has a fine grain to it in a sort of sunburst pattern which explodes outwards from the center which is simply astounding for a rep. I'm not sure if the color is close to the gen as I have not held the gen in my hands, but without seeing the gen side-by-side, this could pass for a genuine watch any day. It has a very VERY slight "brownish-bronzeish" tint to it, which I think to recall the gen also had, but again when you are looking at it standalone in the Rolex dealer full of spotlights, it's hard to tell if it was the same as this one or slightly more silvery. In any case, it's absolutely beautiful. The lettering on the dial is REALLY precise. The Rolex engraving on the inner bezel is as gen-like as you can get. The finishing on the hour markers, minute markers, hands a the lot is fantastic. Honestly, to the "not-extremely-trained" eye, or unless you're ****ing Legolas and can see an Orc's pubic wart from 50 miles away, the finishing is top-notch.
Now, the ONLY thing which I think you can tell it is NOT a gen, is in the Rolex crown on the dial marker. You need to be really really picky to see it, and you will never see it unless you know what you're looking for. This crown design, unfortunately, is from older Rolex Daytona models from the 1960's (any maybe later). The bottom of the crown (the round thing), is "rounder" on this rep whereas the new gen Daytona models from Rolex have slightly modified the Crown design where the bottom of the crown is now slightly "flatter" making it more of a "rounded rectangle" than an "oval" shape. Here are some pictures from a gen crown and my Clean factory watch for comparison:
