All. Just received a Daytona 126500 from Clean and surprised to see that it had a DD4131 vs SH4131. Does anyone have any color as to why the switch in movements. Ctime had a great comparison of GEn vs SH4131. Any insight would be appreciated.

I was under the impression the DD movements are the better build in relation to others form reading across multiple posts and forums. I'm not a watch smith so can't comment but I understood Clean did an exclusive deal for the 3285 movement which do seem to be very good in look and reliability. I thought one of the other factories got the drop for the Daytona movement and perhaps that has now changed, or was maybe only exclusive for a short period of time?

I have been toying with the idea of a Panda but wasn't sure on the SH movement which im sure is very good but wondered if it was worth waiting to see if Clean would use the DD version, so holding out might have been worth it, was it any more in price?

Also I understand the BTF version is on par or marginally better than the clean but think they were using the SH also but had better case and pusher and xtal out of the box although ive seen posts where the Clean dial colour and xtal address the white dial colour on the Panda.

Interesting to see a Clean DD version aside a BTF SH (or DD) version maybe @CTime could do some digging as they work well with Clean?

Ah yes thats was it, couldn't quite remember didnt they have the slightly better case at first too?
They have the better bezel compared to VS and Clean, but imho the dial is inferior. This is coming from someone who owns a BT. Case ans finishing is the same i don't really nitpick heavily about case. Crystal is also mildly better.

With the Clean coming with a DD4131 BTF is outclassed, only thing is BTF is like 30% cheaper

Cool cheers, I would agree the cases on most are so close unless scrutinizing with verniers and magnification it would be hard tell even then, the bezel is another one but looking at the newer style 126 bezels the infill looks great on most of them even when under the scope. So I think the Clean is now an almost complete deal now. Ive not looked at prices to be fair but has the clean price (maybe OP can answer) increased since using the DD movement?

The panda seems to be the better buy as the dial looks spot on where as the last black version, it was close but the chrono dials were little off, thought this was a few months back.

Now if only the boat engines would stay in on piece for more that a few months, id bag myself a 126 panda! ;)

Which dealer did you use that stocks the DD with 126xxx series?

How did you go about verifying it is DD4131, did you open up the watch yourself or did the seller take pics for you? I bought a panda that is supposedly updated with this movement, but I want to verify for myself since this is my first purchase from this seller.

Ask the seller to send you a photo of the movement.
The amplitude can be an indication (it's lower on the DD), but not 100% reliable.

Clean, as far I understand, worked with Shanghai to exclusively upgrade and release an 4131 movement because Peacock/dandong wasnt ready to release theirs at this time.
CLEAN wanted to be of the first (If I remember correct, after ARF or ZF) that release a model of this watch.
VS then came with the peacock 4802, and after the DD was released, multiple factorys took this movement which seems to be superior in their watches.
I never had a movement so reliable like the Peacock movements. 4130, 3130, 3135, 3285.

I opened the case as it was on the way and then had heard about the DD so I checked as that was not a QC question for me.

I have 2 sonic daytona skeleton style they have Sl4802… they’ve been perfect for over a year. I took 1 out last week to wear and when I pulled the crown to set the time the hand won’t move, it will wind and run perfectly but no resistance at all. I see a cog moving at the keyless area but not advancing hands. I’ve sent it to be repaired if possibl, I’m just sick about it

Where did this Clean with a DD4130 come from? @CTime could you work your magic and see if this is something Clean are now doing? I just asked Trusty and he is not aware of it yet either.

Just wondering if indeed the watch is a Clean model, I would have thought this might be a big selling point for Clean as Im sure they have missed out on some sales to BTF, unless they are trying to run down stocks dealers might already have?

Interesting if they are now doing them with the DD, and perhaps only certain sellers get the option to sell them. But as Reaps has said the BTF is pretty much a Clean and any differences would really be negligible unless side by side. DId I see a BTF vs Clean 126500LN side by side compare or did I just make that up?

QC photos of the CF 126500 with DD4131 have been showing up from various TD and non-TD for a month now. I received some QC photos from CTime on Feb 10 that showed the new movement.
There are rumors that TD still receive watches with the SH movement from CF as well, but I believe it's rather old stock that the dealers try to sell to less informed customers.

Clean has secretly updated DD4131 on 126 daytonas right before Chinese new year, many QC with movement shots can prove that
