The watch was then modified to resemble the beautiful "Wildman Daytona Azure Edition" (more info here: https://wildmanbespoke.com/collection/wildman-daytona-azure-edition) using a JJ Watchparts dial + bezel kit (USD 695).
I was too afraid of doing anything wrong when swapping the dial, so I gave the parts to a local Rolex-certified watch smith who has helped me out with various work. He charged CHF 200 for the swap.
My big problem: home office... I just don't get to wear this beauty as often as it deserves it. And when the occasion is right to throw on a nice watch, the blue sometimes feels to loud for my overall style.
The cost breakdown for the build would be:
+ CF Daytona: 768 USD
+ Deep Crystal (incl. install): 108 USD
+ Dial and Bezel kit: 695 USD
+ Dial swap: 200 CHF
= TOTAL: +/- 1,600 EUR
The stock black dial and bezel will be part of the deal, providing the buyer with the opportunity to always go back to "black tie only" attire.
For full transparency: The watchmaker has noticed that one of the rotor screws is missing (see photo). The movement is working perfectly, but I wanted to be transparent about this. The screw also doesn’t seem to be loose inside the movement. Since there was no photo of the open case back during QC, I suspect it has been like this from the very beginning...
