To honor the occasion of my 2000th post, here is something special for you!

Primer & Review of the Breitling Chrono Avenger

PART 1 – Chrono Avenger primer

For a long time I have wanted to add an example of Breitling’s “Aeromarineâ€

PART 2 – Chrono Avenger (2nd Generation) review

Let me preface this review by saying that the previous section was written prior to receiving my 2nd generation Chrono Avenger. I was a little bit nervous that I might be disappointed, after discovering all the flaws and after studying a multitude of photos of 1st generation and genuine images.

Knowing all this, I still felt the 2nd generation Chrono Avenger was still a good choice. Despite all of its flaws, it still outshines the current stainless steel version for the simple reason that it is constructed completely of titanium. Also, the 1st generation reps have become so rare that they are already commanding a very high resale value.

First Impressions
My first thought when I opened the package was “man, this thing is lightâ€

Nice review. I recently picked up a Ti version myself. This watch has a presence no matter what version. If you like it, just pick one up. Sometimes I hate reading those detailed reviews about the most minute details of imperfection in replication. But I do suppose it also depends on what circles you hang out with, Im a med student, so my peers don't know an avenger from a planet ocean, lol.

great review my friend!! damn i wish they would start producing these breitling reps with AR. the reps are near perfection, but the lack of AR really kills it. still by far my favorite watches. :D

Actually, having no AR is kind of a blessing. It just means the crystal is already prepared for the next AR run. No need to scrub off any weak rep AR before I get it done right!

i certainly have to agree with ya there. i think if theyre gonna do AR they should do it right (double sided) and if theyre not gonna do it right....dont do it at all. im so sick of seeing all these advertisements for light ar...what a joke. nice watch buddy looks great.

Yes, but the evo is part of Breitlings "Professional" series. I wanted a more rugged example of the "Aeromarine" line. The evo is definitely on the list though!

Very nice review.

I sold my gen 1 chrono avenger recently. The reason why I sold it is mainly because of the incorrect datefont.
Kinda miss it but I am happy that it find a good owner

Something tells me that you will regret selling that beauty some day. I saw a 1st gen rep recently with a gen dial, hands, and datewheel. I could not tell the difference

Respect for your wonderful post andreww. Well... just a little bit on the AR part. Both replicas don't come close to genuine Breitling Avenger Chrono AR colour (this one is double side coated). I owned 2 pieces of 1st generation replica and I can conclude that AR colour can be different. One has more bluish tint than the other. Nonetheless, genuine is double side coated, replica is single side coated.
