Hello everyone.. I have been lurking and reading this forum every night since I joined. I have used the search function as much as possible and feel I have learned enough to post.. First of this site and all of you are GREAT.. Seems like a great bunch and helpful. So to my questions..
About a year ago I want to my local watch store for a band adjustment on my Gen TAG Link Chrono and I was looking around and I saw it.. A Chopard Mille Miglia I am a tremendous vintage racing fan so this unreal. I then looked at the price tag and quickly gave up.. Then I found you all.. I was so pleased that the Mille I like appears to be one of the best reps out there. I want the Mille GT XL simple white. So I have been reading and reading and it seems that a purchase would be better served from someone (on the trusted dealer list of course) that has a specific rep of high quality as they all appear to be from different manufacturers. I have NO problem spending some money. For the right product I will spend the $400 if the product is of the highest quality that can be found. I really want a nice piece.
Please see the listed links. They are for the same watch with asian 7750 28800 for $328 http://www.puretimewatch.com/index.php?productID=109
asian A07.111 (same as Gen) and copied from a real watch for $438
http://www.puretimewatch.com/index.php?productID=989
I have also searched and search for some comments on the A07.111 movement and have not really come up with any real solid review. I am sure there is one.. I have used Pure time for example purposes.

As a Noob thank you for this chance to ask some questions. And yes I WILL post pictures of my new watch as soon as it arrives..

Puretime is a good seller. Likely will have a good transaction. The watch you chose is pretty spot on to the gen. It a bit pricey for the gen so "pulling it off" is up to you. Then again 99.5 % wont know or care so enjoy it.

Watchbuff, Thank you for your reply.. Just to clarify I am not really trying to fool people as much as get a piece that is a well running watch with a good to better movement. Looking really correct is very important but would more like a watch that really runs well.. As noted I am really curious as to the A07.111 movement advantages / disadvantages and what the difference is in a watch replicated from a real one as not.. If they are 99 % correct.. What is the advantage for another $100..

I have one in PVD with a black dial, and it's one of my favs. It's heart is the cheapo 21J but it has been flawless in operation, and they DO closely resemble the gen.

One flaw I know of that every rep will have is an incorrect font in the "1000 MIGLIA" arrow (usually pointing at the date). On mine the cyclops is under-powered as well.

Best of luck to you!

Good to know for sure.. Its a real beauty.. Anyone have comment on the A07.111? Seems like it is somewhat of a new movement? Has it really been shaken out to a really reliable unit?

All I know is that the ETA A07.111 is a 28800bph movement based on the ETA 7750 structure and has been around for about 5 o 6 years. I don't have any reps with the Asian version so I really can't be very helpful. My feeling is that the particular model you're looking at is not a very good one. But don't take my word for it... I just feel that these models often have poor build quality and usually one of the give aways is the bad cyclop. Have also read reports of particularly loud rotors on this one.

In my view, the best Chopard Mille Miglia in terms of accuracy to the rep is the GMT, like this one: http://www.puretimewatch.com/index.php?productID=104. Mind you, it's the kind of rep you want serviced as soon as you get it , given all the functions... I have had two for a while and have been impressed by the quality. I just sold one and have kept this one:

Sorry for the quick and dirty pictures taken with the phone. But you get the idea. This watch was vac lumed and fully serviced as soon as I got it. Since you're a vintage racing fan, you should appreciate the custom racing strap (from HKTan I think) that I put on it! :)

I have a few other Chopards, but this model just blows them all out of the water in terms of look, feel and build quality. Just superb. I'd suggest you go to an AD and check out a few different ones.
