Hello to all,

I am considering purchasing a Chopard and would like your opinion on it. I have used the search function and did not find much on this particular model:

http://www.watcheden.com/chopard-mi...t-ar-coating-with-white-dial-i-18127-p-1.html

As anybody bought this model? What are your thoughts on it, considering the accuracy and general feeling of the watch?
Also I am wondering if the GMT function will work on an Asian 7750.

Thank you.

Yes I have two of these. Couldn't decide on what colour to get, so I bought both the black and the white dial versions! One came from Ruby and the other from Hont, if I remember correctly.

One of them is currently with Rocketeer for a service and a relume job (been there since January ). The relume was very sloppy (especially on the GMT hand) so I just had to get it redone (make sure you ask your dealer to check the quality of the lume job before posting it - some are dreadful). Rocketeer also said there was a small problem with the GMT hand, which he took care of (not sure whether this was limited to my watch, or affects all these reps).

I ordered a custom racing strap for one of them from Gunny, but unfortunately it got lost in the mail so Gunny's making me another one. The other one is currently on the SS bracelet. The watch changes appearance completely whether it's on leather or steel. Looks great both ways though. I think the racing strap is a great look for it, and I'll post pics when I get it.

Reliability-wise etc they are both good. The one from Ruby had to be returned to her for a replacement because it was too fast, but the replacement works flawlessly.

This is also a great rep in terms of accuracy to the gen. I held the gen in my hands at an AD and the feel and look are very similar. All in all, an outstanding rep IMO.

Thank you rooster....

That was all I needed to know. I will mail Hont and WE about it.

I nominated this as Best Replica of the Year 2007. That is not without reasons. The dial is simply one of the best replicated dial (thick and well defined printing), correct datefont and pretty good lume. The only complain is the wrong Tachymetre spelling (the white dial is then more accurate).

This stays in my collection and I still wear it occasionally. Get the straps also if you can. This watch is heavy with metal band.

I also own this watch. I purchased it from Ruby about 18 months ago and it has run well. I have the "panda" face version and in my eyes this is the best looking one of all. My only complaint is the Bracelet is really prone to desk diving scuffs so keep some "Cape Cod" cloths on hand. This Rep is not Cheap but I feel it's one of the most accurate in my collection after the Breitling's. Enjoy :D

Taka, the spelling on the GMT is correct (tachometer). There's no mistake there. Just like the gen. Though a gen version with "tachymeter" has also been reported. So, both are correct.

My only complaint would be the cyclop magnification and bad lume job. Some models have screwed up GMT and chrono seconds arrows in terms of lume in particular. But no biggies.

Yeah, I know! Been looking forward to seeing your Blackbird light up like a torch!!
The irony is that the guy's name is rocketeer... I think turtle or snail would be more indicative of his speed. Anyway, hang in there. I'm sure we'll get our stuff back by the time our easter eggs have passed their due date.
