Choice for 40mm PAM rep?

Hi, I am a newbie here. I have decided to buy the first pair of Panerai reps for me and my wife. It was easy to select the one for me, in fact, I will take the noob 111 v3. But it is hard to find the one for my wife, as there's nearly no review or discussion for small-size Panerai. It seems the PAM048 with a Asia 7750 MVMT is a promising option. Is it really a fine rep (well-finished, visually not far from gen)? Do you have any suggestion on this?

thank you very much!

Dear Fiddo,

thank you very much for your kind reply. ALE7575's has been the "bible" for me, I've studied it tens of times. In fact we visited a local gen Panerai dealer and she tried on both 44 and 40 mm, unfortunately 44 is too big for her slim wrist. This is why we have to look for a 40mm model for her.

have a nice day!
Hello and Welcome!

There is an abundance of PAM information found here--------------> http://forum.replica-watch.info/vb/showthread.php?t=107365 The definitive source for PAM reps.

As far as the 048, it's just OK. Let your wife wear the 44mm PAMs. Mine does....they look fine.

I wish to know the answer as well. Are there any super rep 40mm Pams at the moment?

Many times published this question and many times answered. NO there are no Super or even very good reps of 40mm

There is a solution with Radiomirs 44mm which wear less than Luminors and can be worn by women. PAM 380-183-388-505-346 are good choices

ALE, thank you very much! Hope one day those makers could make good small PAM reps.

I'm super new here too, but began my voyage the same way you did. What discouraged me with the 40mm (even with the gen) is that there was no sandwich dial. That 3d/recessed effect is what attracts me to Panerai. Hope that helps steer you to an alternative. I'm looking for one too. I like the O series that was posted recently, but not in white. So I search on.

To clarify. That's the PAM 113 O series on Perfect Clones. I think the 111n looks like the choice for me.

113O is a nice watch, especially maybe suitable for women. But this is not my wife's taste, she prefers black dial. And I just got reply from puretime, 048 anyway is not available. We still have to work to look out another alternative:(

I went down the TD list on both RWG and RWI and just visited the dealers with websites. I DID see the 048 listed as available somewhere. I just don't remember where (and it was like 2 days ago). I know that listed as available doesn't mean it always is, but maybe this helps. While most seen to say the quality is sub-par on the 048 reps, I did read another thread that said they're scarce. If you ever find one, buy it and start modding. Not for me.

Hey Ale,

I know. Just presented them as alternatives that I ran into when losing a taste for the 40mm. Thanks!

Ale,

Maybe you can answer. I posed this question elsewhere and have yet to get a reply. I'm new to Panerai reps (all reps for that matter). For some rep brands/models, I have drawn the conclusion that avoiding a watch with a cyclops/date helps to avoid some of the potential tells of a rep watch (crooked, magnification, wrong font, etc.). How would you say that Panerai reps hold up to that kind of scrutiny?

Some years ago it was the same with PAMs
Nowadays, things are improved . PAM 243, and PAM 029 from Noob have very good Cyclops.
Last PAM 088, PAM 104 and PAM 164 O-series from Noob are very good too
But the lack of frozen halo and the distortion are better always in gens

Tutzl, if an homage watch is an option for you www.jackontse.com (a TD over at RWG) has 7 options in 40mm.

Robvs, thank you for the advice. It seems a well built homage is a very good alternative for small size PAMs.

I have been looking at this route too. The PANERAI GUIDE EXCEL TABLE - ALE7575 - (Update 27 July 2014) lists the PAM 244 available in 40mm and GMT. Both of these are important to me. I see it listed here, by TSwatch. However, it is identified in the Pam review guide, on this site, as being poor quality.

As stated, I have been looking at a Jackson Tse. I am just wondering if anyone has any reviews of one. I need a working second hour hand that I can set to China time. If it is a true GMT is less important to me. I can reset the hour hand when I change time zones.
