How certain are you that it is gen?
The abovce in combination with the protective film on the case back make me think.
Although the CG pin looks good, it appears on the pictures slightly concave..

No box or papers, I would stay well clear. Personally I would never go near ebay to buy a gen Panerai.

Buy the seller, not the watch.

Oh, and it's only $2500 now, but there are 3 days left on the auction. It will reach normal market price by the end of the auction, I'm sure (which is less than MSRP of $6200, despite the sellers claim that they sell for "far more than that" today).
