It depends what you called a "cheap strap"... Cheap straps are usually not handmade, and as they are cheap, not good leather quality, overall looks cheap...
I won't mount a "cheap strap" like most of the rep straps, most of Panatime first prices straps on a PAM372... The strap makes the watch.
Every woman on earth has more sex appeal, more class, more, more, more everything you want with nice high heels than with crocs, isn't it?
That's the same with your watch, even a rep...
You can find affordable handmade high quality straps from many makers... Peter Gunny, CBstraps offer nice quality straps at fair prices.
CB Straps :

All his straps are +/- $60 without shipping, For that price, you couldn't find better... But his straps, even if really well made, are a bit thick at lugs, and all the straps I have/had from him come against the case between lugs (on Luminor cases).
Peter Gunny :

His prices are higher than CB Straps, but top leather quality, top finish, worth the difference of price! But you get nice straps for a PAM372 at fair prices...
- Caitlin2
- Brutal Black if you like stiffer straps
- Butter Serie for Breitling, really nice strap for a 372, like butter...
- Chocolate Fudge, but with a lume matching stitching
- Caitlin 6 (blue) with ecru/gold stitching, really amazing and original combo on the 372
- Minimalist Beige, larger and thicker for a PAM372, I have one in 27/22, thicker, on a Radiomir, simply stunning
All these straps are max +/-$100, buckle included... You can't have better quality for such a price...
Hope this helps,
