Hello,

for non-business activities I am serching for a new PAM.
It should be a bit more casual than my PAM 112, which I love for business context.
I think the ceramic PAMs are a good option here. But other suggestions are very welcome.

Is there any ceramic replica, which is very close to the gen, probably even close to a super rep?
It should be a Luminor with a sandwich dial.

Best Regards
Bacardi Man

Thanks for the tip. These two sit at the top of my list as well.

Is there like a best version of these watches or a go to factory?

Best regards

The current best versions are made by VSF.

Get a 438 and an asso strap.

So that basically he's getting both the PAM438 and the PAM441 for way less money than buying two watches separately. Unless he wants to wear them both at the same time.

Are both of them of the same quality?
I red the blackend back of the PAM438 isn't as accurate.

I suggest you do some more reading. Strange that you read that the blackened movement on the PAM438 isn't as accurate but you didn't read how the rest of the watch was?

Random. What's wrist size for PAM 112?

Random and totally not related to the thread but PAMs are meant to be worn big. If you follow the standard WIS calculation, a 44mm watch would need a 7 inch wrist. I have a 6.25" wrist and I wear 47mm PAMs. Wear what you like but if you want to look "sensible" which again isn't the point of wearing PAMs, you should have a 7" wrist.

I try to read everything on this topic, but the findings are very irritating. You probably noticed since I assumeably wrong thought that the PAM 438 is inferior to the PAM441.
Unfortunately both watches are not covered in an seemingly sophisticated review as ALE's Guide for example.

I was therefore hoping that you experts could give me some advice on which of these two to choose.
Are both watches equally close to the gen?

The PAM438 is basically a PAM441 with a ceramic bracelet or the PAM441 is a PAM438 without the bracelet, depending on how you prefer to look at things, simple as that. There is no feature on one that is more accurate on it than the other. Movement wise they are precisely the same, except for the PVD treatment on the PAM438 movement. Everything else is exactly the same as these are reps made by the same factory and thus for purposes of economy use exactly the same dial and mid case (which is what they did with the gen I would think for exactly the same reason). The only main difference would be the bracelet on the PAM438. It makes the watch unique to the other PAMs because there are other PAMs with ceramic cases that have the assolutamente strap like the PAM441. Now this depends totally on your taste as some people do not like bracelets on PAMs and would much rather prefer leather straps. The PAM438 does cost $50 more than the PAM441 exactly because of the bracelet but if you want the bracelet the price difference is immaterial. .

Thank you very much for the in depth explanation.
That makes a lot of sense.
I thought that maybe the movement ist different and not only the PVD treatment.
