I love "O-mee-ga" watches but maybe I'm old school Bond, that movie didn't have that "Bond movie" feel. It was more like a Jackie Chan movie with a white guy. IMHO. 8)

It was supposed to be...

Casino Royale was Bond's first 007 adventure. He was supposed to be crude, brute, hot headed and lose the girl.

Hence why he doesn't repeat his mistakes in the next few books...

I can't wait for the next two movies w/ Craig I think he's an excellent addition to the Bond legacy.

That is one of the best modern day bonds movies going back to the old style Connery days.

It was gay that he said I love you to the girl.

Omega watches are awesome. wearing my Orange PO today.

But in the Connery days the stunts were "believable". All that crap at the beginning made me want to puke. Bond is a trained assassin, not an Olympic gymast/Sprinter/Decathalete/Cirque de soleil performer/bulletproof stuntman. And the excitement of that (what seemed like 4 hour) poker tournament almost put me to sleep. Then the Aston Martin just shows up. Hey guys "What can this F'in car do?" Hell, I thought George Clooney was gonna jump out of the glove box to shock ol' James back to life. Just a wretched movie all around. IMHO

I thought the film was far better than any of the recent Bond films. With good old fashioned motives for the bad guys - not universal domination etc. Yes Connery is still the all time best, but its early days for Craig.
Moore was getting too camp-comedy and cheesy while Brosnan was too slick and 'pretty' to get beat up.

As HM govt assassin, Craig did a good job, IMO! :) An all round hard man who learns from his mistakes the hard way. Why else would he and the film get nominations at the BAFTAs...in fact, its the only Bond film I've watched more than twice in a short time span!

My 'critique' has nothing to do with the fact that I live a few mins away from where he grew up as a lad!

i agree, this bond film is better than the previous bond films. I liked craig. The writing was a whole lot better too. One can only get so tired of oneliners and farfetched plots.

I like the PO and traditional bond watch he was wearing. He was wearing the Co-axial SMP!!!! :D

i want an SMPPPP!!!!!!!!

I liked the Casino Royale although there was too much violence. I simply can't understand why all the new movies have so much sick torture and sadism. Guys like Tarantino brought extreme violence to Hollywood movies and now it's completely normal... and perfectly accepted by the masses. I think it's not chic'... it's just sick.

I usually rotate by bond watching to one move a week. I tend to go back to Moonraker. Diamons are forever, Dr NO and Octupussy a lot. My wife always asks me if I get tired of watching them.

And lets not forget Bond Days on TNT and on Spike.

X2

The movie as a whole was good, the movie for a bond flick left me disapointed. Maybe I will find more respect for this film with the release of the next bond flick... I want to see how they tie them together as far as Bonds character goes.
