Sorry, I can't help you with the correct size of the specific PAM-caseback opener, but especially with PAM's I have never used anything else than a rubber ball. Zero risk of scratching anything.

I use one of these bad boys, normally I will add a layer of masking tape before application, you may use for 47mm ones and apply layer of tape to achieve a snug fit

Did you have any luck opening a titanium PAM with that rubber ball?

Yes. So far only one watch caseback resisted all attempts with the rubber ball, but that was a Rolex sub. Its caseback was so tight (brandnew from TD) that I had to use considerable force even with the proper Rolex opener.

But sometimes it requires a bit of effort, some more than others, especially when everything is dry. I had one or two very stubborn PAM's, too. Doublesided tape on the ball can help to make it more sticky. And I always make sure that I have a good grip on the watchhead, pressing my thumb against the lug without risk of damaging anything, like chrono pushers or the strap. If it feels too tight I rather remove the strap before going on because I accidentally hurt a rubber strap in the beginning.

And after lubricating the rubber gasket, I also put a tiny amount of grease on the threads of the caseback when putting it back on. That way it screws down smoothly and opens nice and easy the next time.

Thanks, I opened many of my Pams already with the ball but they were all steel, now I have been trying to open a TI Pam and the ball doesn't "grip" the caseback as well as it does with the steel ones, but glad to know that at least it can be done, will keep trying :)

It can be opened, but the ball will need to be deflated slightly to increase the grip area ;) .
