I just used a rubber dish glove to open my Davidsen 009, but I have Tanfo's caseback opener on its way. Also got a suction caseback opener from Ofrei for the 47mm casebacks.

Duct tape. I just put a 5 inch strip on the case back. Ball up the extra length, and twist it off.

You know I have at least 6 different sized Panerai rear cases, so that fixed sized tool looks cool, but just what does it fit?

We'll see when it gets here. It should fit the gens at least for one thing. Thats why I got the other options that I mentioned in my post.

JAXA-style caseaback opener and closer is one of the best case back opener/closer tools. The original from well known watch tools manufacturer can cost you about $80-100. You can go for Indian replica of this tool. Cost half of the original. This opener won't work on big PAM watches (47mm). This will leave you the rubber as an option.

I was going to try the duct tape method on my Ultimate Sub - but my green sticker would become a casualty through such a method :(

Yep, the green sticker would be history useing the duct tape method. I have opened all my reps with the duct tape except for my Pam. It is on really tight or I can't get enough grip on the clear caseback. Works wonders on the subs though.

Just a FYI.

The caseback opener that I got from Tanfoglio works on all the 44mm Pams that I own.
