one difference is that the lugs are a bit longer on the gen, thus the gen sits a bit lifted from the table while the BV backcase almost touches the table .

I see only in 316L steel..

The gen is 316L steel . Only rolex use 904L.

No you can't especially in brushed watches /sections.
