Cartier Tank Solo Large Gen vs. Rep(ARF) Quick Comparison

Hi all,

As I was lucky to acquire Gen Cartier Tank Solo large, I would like to compare Gen vs. Rep from AF.

This is based on a personal opinion who doesn't have eagle eyes. Please refers to the attached pictures for more details.

Gen is with a white sticker, Rep is with a green sticker.


1. Dial (9.5/10)

- Gen has a slightly warmer white tone and very little more embossed dial printing, but it can't be called out even side by side comparison.

- Definitely hard to tell on the wrist.


2. Casing (8.5/10)

- Gen has smoother hairline polishings on the top and bottom, but Rep represented pretty well. Sizewise looks pretty equal.

- The glass sits even nicer on the Rep watch.


3. Hands (9.7/10)

- Can't tell the difference. Blue hands are very well replicated.






4. Crown (8/10)

- The shape of the crown is different, but no one will look for the 1mm of difference on your wrist.





5. Gem (9/10)

- Looks very similar (only it looks darker on the picture). Feels slightly pointy on Rep.




6. Caseback (9/10)

- The font looks the same, but Gen has a deeper and shinier engraving




Overall : (9.5/10)

- Well, if you are into easy-going, slim watches, this is the one. The Quartz movement will not make any trouble

- I will keep my gen watch but it is very hard to tell the difference. Definitely NWBIG for me!

So arf actually makes them? What are its dimensions? Haven’t found it yet.

Well, I didn't like the strap so I bought a custom leather strap.

Hm. Are the dimensions correct? 30.8x30.3 seems oddly square? And small…
