3 places, no one could remove the links. 4th place finally... but they charged me a hefty 38 dollars. I don't blame them, it looked painful to remove.
Now comes the Pics! This particular watch is a Cartier Santos Quartz. I dont mind quartz and i've seen these models come in as quartz. The price definitely reflected it, being at sub $110.
BTW: please excuse the couple of scruffs on it - in my excitement, i forgot to polish before taking photos...
I have no experience with Cartier. I picked up this watch because it was almost identical to the one a relative was wearing (and when he let me try it on, it was over - i wanted one).
At first, i was disappointed with the 10 o'clock spot. "awwww, the X didn't print too well on the face..." It wasn't until i had my photo at 100% crop that i noticed it wasn't a result of bad printing I'm a retard.
and some more eye candy
and the nice cabochon on the side:
Though the link removal was a BIIiiiiig pain in the butt (i wish the bands were the newer screwtype), in the end, this watch is definitely much more than what i could expect. On the back, it says "sanlosde cartier" - i wonder if it is supposed to say "santosde cartier". and i could not find a model number - but maybe that's how this particular model is? who knows?
Still, it fooled enough folks that they wanted to trade with me their seikos, rados, etc
Thank you trusty! I've emailed andrew so many times with lame ass questions, I'm amazed that he still answers them in a speedy manner.
Can't wait for the next buy! i LOVE this watch.
