Hi Buddy’s
I purchased a Cartier Santos Dumont SS 38mm. I know very well that the quality of the strap is really low so I have already purchased two crocodile straps and a deployant. But are there any particular parts very obvious errors on this watch? Reading here and there I heard very good things about it, but not being a Cartier guru I would like to hear the opinions of the more experts.
Thank you

Junio Marco

Nope.
The Santos Dumont is a ridiculously good replica, except for the XL of course, without any major flaws, at a ridiculously good price.

So the only thing that needs to be changed in your opinion is the strap so as I thought since the straps mounted by the Factory are really something that bother the eyes. Perfect then as soon as the watch arrives I will post some pics….🙂🙂🙂🙂

here’s what I wrote at another thread:

From what I see I‘d say that the F1 all in all is the better rep, especially when I look at the crown and case finishing. BUT, it’s hard to tell but the AF dial looks like it doesn’t have the way too thin „CARTIER“ writing on it. I was unsure about whether to buy F1 or AF and after I read that people said AF also got the thin writing, I chose the F1. I’m super happy with it even though the „CARTIER“ is waaaay too thin. But now after I see the dial here (even though the picture quality isn’t the best), I’m curious about whether it would be a good option to source an AF Dial and put it on my F1 🤔

In the end I asked if I could change the size of the watch and instead of the Lady Size 38 I decided to take the 43.5 x 31 model. I have a wrist of 18.4 cm and the large model is very similar to the Santos 35mm. It was quite easy because on Ryan's site (intime) there are 1:1 size photos, so I wanted to see which one was best for my wrist and where I decided to get the one a little bigger. As for the dial, I noticed it. When it arrives I will post some photos on the forum.

Good choice. I have an 210mm wrist, wear Panerai and other large watches and ordered a "Large" size as well. I like big watches, but a Cartier Santos in Large is big enough even for really big wrists.

In addition, the XL is, in real life, a mechanical watch, but as a replica a quartz powered watch, so that kind of bugs me . . .

I have seen a mechanical F1 Santos Dumont XL. It is still there in biao6688 site and it was available when I last enquired about it couple of months ago.

The XL it’s too much.
I like same size of Santos 35 and the Large it’s more or less egual

Cartier Santos 35 real measure :
L = 35,2
Lug to Lug = 42,8

Cartier Santos Dumont Large :
L = 31,3
Lug to Lug = 43,4

It’s like the 35mm and not for very big wrists , I suppose, this is my gen Santos 35 on wrist :

Keep in mind, the Dumont has the proprietary quick release strap with inserts, so any new strap will need those inserts sewn in or the strap won't fit well.

I have informed myself well about this watch and the problem with the strap is quite glaring. I changed the order and got a steel and gold Santos, still size 35. Having the steel gen version, I stayed with the same watch but in another version. I found some very nice Easy Link crocodile straps aftermarket, a little expensive but very beautiful. Now the problem is finding a Cartier deployant rep.
