Cartier Santos 100 - WatchEden comes through!

I originally purchased a Cartier Santos 100 From WatchEden a few months ago. The watch I received did not match the photo on their website. In all honesty, I was pretty hard on them regarding this fact. After several emails, I returned the watch and today I received the replacement (see attached photo).

THIS is the one I wanted, and I'm very happy with it. It took a while, but WatchEden came through AGAIN. I now have 3 very nice (and inexpensive) Reps from them.

If there's a better version of this watch available (that you can order today), I don't know about it (and I've done quite a bit of searching). 'CARTIER' and 'AUTOMATIC' are located well and X and XI are pretty darn close together. If it weren't for the textured dial and improper location of 'SWISS MADE' (which isn't that easy to see anyway) it would be almost perfect. The best part is that it's priced very reasonably.

Great rep and a great price. The only thing that stopped me from ordering it is the strap isn't great (but standard for a rep), but very difficult to replace because of the double deployant clasp. I checked with HKTan, and he can do a custom, but it'll cost more than the rep itself (more than $100).

Great looking watch and congrats on finally getting the right one!

Good to know that WatchEden care about their RWI customers...

I am impressed with how watch Eden handled this . I have had good luck dealing with Watch Eden but I never had a problem. I can tell you that there are Dealers out there that would have told you to to take a hike and don't really care.
Just my 2 cents worth.

Nice watch, I was looking at getting the two tone from time4direct but the dial is not as accurate as yours, it does not seem to be textured though. Is the strap acceptable ? He says it's pretty bad unfortunately. On the other hand he says the SS wristband is great but I don't wear that very well.

It seems that there's no perfect dial (at least not one that's available). I personally like the one from WatchEden, but that's just me. I wish they hadn't used a textured dial, but from 12" away, it's hard to tell.
Maybe I'm just not that picky about straps, but I think that the strap on this version is pretty darn good, I certainly have no reason to change it.

Thanks for the info about the strap, I just got an IWC FA Jones from Watcheden today and the strap is also quite good, much better than the strap on my FMuller CrazyHands.

Too bad Watcheden don't have the two-tone Santos 100.

What do you think of the SS strap ? It seems they're not very populart anymore these days. Not as comfy either.

@watchblog - I can't for the life of me find that comparison you posted between the first one you got and the one on their website, do you still have the link handy?

Still not sure between black and brown strap, did you hesitate yourself ?

Webvan: Here's the link to my original comparison:

Yes, I purchased Item Number: 14548 and I'm really happy with this version. A brown strap would look nice, but for some reason I like black straps, so it wasn't a difficult decision for me.

If you're thinking about getting one of these, you might want to confirm that you'll get the exact dial they have shown on their website... just in case.

Thanks for the link, yes I specified I wanted the same one you got the second time around ;-) Too bad the correct dial in full white never made it to the market.

There were problems with the watches they sent me so I'm sending them back, and will swap one of them for the Santos 100. A bit annoying but problems happen and they've replied promptly to my emails so it works for me as long as I get the watches I ordered in the end. How was the shipping cost handled on your return ?

I paid shipping on my return, it ended up costing around $20. It took about 2 weeks for them to receive the watch and to ship a new one out and another week for it to arrive (so about 3 weeks total). Unfortunately the mail is slow, but in the end, everything worked out just fine. I'll try to post more pictures when I get back from Thanksgiving vacation.
I hope you like it as much as I like mine.

Seems reasonable enough, although not really fair that you had to pay $20 due to an error on their part, did you ask for a refund and they refused or did you just let it go?

It took a while but mine is here too, same as the second one you got and very happy with it to. Strap isn't too bad, and it seems like it wouldn't be easy to replace it the way it is attached to the crown...

As a side note there is one available with the famous PWC dial here http://www.repgeek.com/showthread.php?t=47276 - same as ours except it is plain white and has Swiss Watch in the right place.
