Dear members,

I'm in the proces of buying a Tag Heuer Carrera Chrono 43mm F1 Limited Edition from a trusted dealer. I have received the QC pictures and can see some flaws with the number alignement most noticble at 05 and 35. The got a replacement that also have this flaw.

I was told the entire batch is like this. I really need your assistance... Would you buy this watch or is it just me being to demanding? The price is US$ 328...

Regards

The actual size of those numbers is quite small so the misalignment is very minor. You probably would not notice it if you didn't know it was there. However, you are paying quite a bit for that watch and I think you should expect a little better. I have a cheapo 21J version of this watch and some of the numbers are misaligned on it. But I paid $88 for it.

Unfortunately, this is true. I can't remember seeing a photograph of a replica with aligned numbers. Mine is just like this, and I am ordering another one which might like this as well. I would buy it.

Ok - thanks for your replies. I ended up ordering the watch anyway and will follow up when it arrives.

yeah, i am not too sure what glue they use, but i think its a good possibility you could attempt it yourself, if in doubt, im sure a watch modder could do it no problem

Often there are small pins on the back of numbers, markers and logos that fit into tiny holes in the dials. That's how stuff is aligned. So if it is off, that usually means the dial and the bit that is glued on are manufactured that way. Re-gluing is not an option unless you file off the alignment pins. Markers and stuff are usually quite easy to remove. Getting them back on without making a colossal mess is the hard part. I'd leave it alone. I only mess with them if they fall off on their own.

Ok - I guess I have to live with it then. ..

However, the watch has arrived and the misalignment is not really a big deal at all! It is a beauty and the dial is awesome. It's only me focusing on the very minor errors but I hardly think anyone else will notice.

It is really one of the best Tags I've seen so far.
