Hi all,

I am after a Carrera Calibre 6 heritage with the black dial and black leather strap.

I have tried lots of links on RWI to TD websites and only found one example:

http://www.watcheden.net/tag-heuer-carrera-calibre-6-automatic-number-markers-with-black-dial-leather-strap-gift-box-is-included-i-164454-p-1.html

My main gripe with this one is that the date wheel is white and I think that would really bug me everytime I looked at it. Smaller issues (that I could live with) are that the "automatic" is in the wrong place and I am also unsure from the pictures as to the quality of the printing of the "carrera calibre 6".

The gen looks like this:

Can anyone help me find a good rep or perhaps point me to a TD who could maybe source one?

Thanks in advance! :D:

I've never looked up this particular model, so which models are available I don't know, however if you've been through all the TDs and that's the only version available then that seems to be your only choice.

If the date wheel colour is the only thing putting you off, you could always buy that version and change over the date wheel for a black one. It's quite an easy mod, cheap, and there are tutorials for how to do it here on the forum.

I like that idea!

Yes it is only the date wheel that would bug me, but given that I quite like taking things apart to mod them, then this seems like a good option. Saying that I have never taken apart a watch, but there really is only one way to learn... :D:

Thanks for the replies and help.

Bear in mind it's 21j not 28XX so you might not find a black datewheel that fits very easily.

Just seeing that movement would out me off. Especially for circa $200.

Need sec @ 6 module for daytona.

Thanks for the info.

Despite further searching and more contact with the TDs, it seems there is no other source or rep of this one with the black dial.

So, for now I have put this one on hold as it is just not worth the price tag, especially after a couple of the TDs commented to me that it was a low quality rep.

It was on sale for $110 last year... if it reaches that price again I will pick one up just to mess around with it.

Now need to search for a different option for a "modern dress watch" as I would like one of decent quality... i'm thinking maybe IWC, Patek Philippe or Vacheron Constantin, but am open to other suggestions?

There are nice reps of Jaeger Le Coultre and A. Lange & Sohne in the low price range.
If you want something close to gen then go Audemars Piguet
