Hello all,
I'm what can be called noob, but I've spent one week doing my research here, and came to a point where I will appreciate some help.
ISSUE: CARRERA STAINLESS STEEL BLACK
I'm after this watch and I found 2 version;
- OLD: Calibre 16 (first genuines used ETA 7750 Valjoux) --> Day & date info on the dial.
- NEW Calibre 1887 (first in-house movement by Tag Heuer based in seiko). --> Only date info on the dial.
I like both (maybe new one a little more). My trouble is the following;
Being strict, makes more sense to go for the OLD one as the rep will come with the asian 7750 which is the replica movement of the ETA 7750. So, the rep watch will get the correct movement (a replica also) inside. The new one will come also with the asian7750 which is not the correct movement even if they engrave it with "cal 1887" as a rep.
My question is: I'm I being too strict to refusing the new calibre 1887 just because the genuine did not include a ETA 7750 and the rep will come with an asian 7750 instead of a replica movement ot 1887?(which does not exist)
Any help. Does any of you have some information that can help me to decide? Is any key point making a difference to go for calibre 16 or calibre 1887?
Addition: One extended problem on cal 16 is that the rotors are actually engraved with "cal. 1887" as 1887 is the most recent models. Only in TD torosbravos I found the correct one (thanks matbosch)
Many of TD have the wrong rotor engraving.
So againg, any help or missing point that can point me in the right direction??? Thanks a lot guys, this site is fantastic!
