Candidates for “The most influential or Guiding Light PAM Rep 2013â€

I would like to start a Thread-Poll to know the most influential or “Guiding light” PAM replica released in 2013

Please note I’m not ONLY talking about the best or more accurate PAM replica, I’m talking about the replica which more has influenced in PAM replicas market, replicas which have change the game, which have started a new way, which have shaken something in this rep world.

Please post your candidates (from 1 to 6) indicating WHY

It is important “WHY”, because in this way people will know about the reason of the choices and the features of final winner.

With the selected candidates I will start a Poll for voting.

Below my choices:

KW PAM Boutique (417-411-416) - With these awesome replicas Kuvarsit started a new concept regarding quality of finish and GEN-like appearance.

Noob PAM 088 O-series
Noob PAM 104 O-series
Noob PAM 390
These three replicas were the good reaction from Noob to the KW competition, getting a new step in accuracy and finish

KW PAM 312- The first reference in decorated movements

KW PAM 388- The most gen-like Radiomir ever made, although the lug screw problems

PAM 372 Clone Movement- Not yet perfect and with some doubts about final time accuracy and reliability, but it was the first real Clone of a gen Manifattura Panerai movement, with two barrels and more 150 hrs. of PR.

For me personally, it wouldn't be any single PAM but rather the movements. Last year saw the emergence of the P9000 decorated movement, which gave way to the resurgence of the PAMs that used them, like the PAM312/328/320/359/351 and new releases like the PAM505 and the notable PAM388 and PAM389 and the manual P3000 decorated movement, which allowed the factories to finally release one of the most awaited reps, the PAM372, which was followed by the surprise release of the P3000 superclone, which was a totally new movement with a double barrel construction and proven 3 days power reserve. It may have been a flood of new releases but they were enabled by the release of these new movements.

not because I have many choices but because in order to give a straight answer , you must have bought most of the pams that were released last year..


For me , the KW 388 was a step forward...As ALE says , the most gen like pam ever...

It was this watch that made me order a kuvarsit 417 (still waiting for it)

Regarding the 372 , it's an innovation in the rep market but still has some things to improve...but certainly it was a step forward too...

Appreciate you are keeping this thread alive! i am always browsing around looking for idea on which PAM to get next - so i welcome this as input

Unfortunately i am fairly new in the world of super reps (thought i do have some basic reps..) so i can not contribute much.

If I am going to base it on what I've personally bought the past year, they would be the PAM372 and the PAM388. Both champs in my book.

I admit that PAM 372 clone is a very influential rep although it is not one of the best reps
Maybe the most influential rep will be one of the best rep too, but it would not be necessary.

Let's see....... I don't think I have six specifics. However, here's what I think------



Noob 390 I think it continues to show the evolving improvement in accuracy etc.

KW 416- Overall quality of finish. However, drill the lug holes better.

372- Attention being paid to movement accuracy which was never really a concern in the past.

My vote goes to the 372 with clone movement, I think it will be used in many new releases.
I also add kw 388 and noob 390 for case accuracy.

Influential reps would have to be the ones that have broken barriers in terms of making the movements similar to gen. With the advent of the P3000 372, we can only look forward to better reps that take you closer to that elusive 1:1. I for one am a firm believer that if a rep has a closed caseback like the 339, then having a movement decorated is a moot point. However, for the display casebacks it's a definite step forward in terms of what the rep makers have accomplished so far.

Ale, I love your suggestion of the 372. When considering the criteria of "guiding light" reps, the fact that a maker recreated an in house movement, double barreled, with 72 hour power reserve, is mind boggling. Despite the fact that the decoration is not perfect and the dial needs some improvement, the P.3000 represents a giant leap forward in the Panerai rep watch game.

One other option I would consider is the PAM390 Noob. I read that late last year noob released a V4 case for the 390. In terms of the guiding light criteria, we cannot forget about Noob factory and what they have done for Panerai reps. The 390 with closed caseback and pig decoration, is one of the best Pam reps to date and a great example of a classic vintage themed Panerai that appeals to a greater audience. Reps like this are what keeps the engine running for the rep game.
