Whatever the title says.

Yea it's fun and all but it has become a bit annoying seeing this random nonsense in every other thread.

Short answer is no.

This might be too abstract but I will try. What is language to you is a "pictorial" language to some.

I won’t stop using them but will make a conscious effort to limit them. If the powers that be judge that I or other members are abusing and spamming the function then I’m sure they will let us know. FYI to some they may be annoying but to others they enjoy them, adds a little humour or added meaning to a sometimes ordinary post….

I don't see in what sense gif use is annoying, but we just made a button to get them easier, anyone was always free to go grab them online and post them here.

Indeed some browsers extension are available to block them, you can also talk to people if you think they use it too much, or simple ignore them.

Here some info on those extensions : https://www.thewindowsclub.com/turn-off-gif-disable-animated-images-browsers

I think they spice up the forum and allow users to convey something a bit more than just a text, but of course they are not a replacement for a real exchange.

It was a polite question towards people that abuse it. No one asked for the gifs to be disabled or blocked. But thank you very much for the Ignore button. It is really helpful
