I am looking to buy decent Classic Sub.

But I have no idea what MBW or TWB or WM9 stands for.

I tried to search, but it says it's too short to search.

Please someone enlighten me.

Brief explanation or anything would be deeply appreciated.

I believe TWB is Taiwan Best relating to a version of the Rolex Submariner made at a particular factory in Taiwan. You can find these through our trusted dealers and they are not perfect but manufactured close to 1:1. WM9 refers to Watchmaker 9, a man named George who at one time was a supplier of the best "out of the Box" OTB Submariner replicas you could find. He has since disappeared from the scene.

It means your about to buy a noobmariner.

Try searching noobmariner, asian/clone ETA. Still the best sub unless you want to really start sinking cash into it. Pretty much everyone has, had, or will have a noobmariner.

Go get 'em! :chkngitter:

MBW= "Marias Best Watch" =excellent rep. (Narikaa can still source these I believe)
TWB = "Taiwan Best" = excellent rep. Considered by many to be the Best currently available......bklm1234 is the man to contact for these)

WM9 = "Watchmaker9" = excellent rep (considered by many to have been the best) which leads to.....
TC 16610 = WM9 v4 = excellent rep (considered by many to be the best currently available...TC670207 is the man to see for these)

And yes...don't forget the Noobmariner...which is a supurb budget Sub rep.
As stated, it's really all about what you want, the level of acurracy you're after and what you're willing to spend to get there.
(out of these versions mentioned the Noob is capable of the least amount of modding with gen parts and is the only one mentioned here without gen bezel construction and unable to accept the gen crystal.
And there are variations in the MBW's...some with gen bezel construction...some not. Gen crystal in a MBW...I really don't know for sure...I've never did it.

Excluding the TC 16610 I've owned each of the versions mentioned and you really can't go wrong with any of these. Have fun with it and enjoy your search...you're certainly on the right path where Sub reps are concened :)

From left to right, an original TWB 'LV' with gen black insert, gen crown/tube, noob dial/hands, WM9 V3 as standard and an original 'Noobmariner' with gen 2836 and TWB dial/hands installed...

Sconey, a perfect picture of the difference between a WM9 LV insert and a Noob LV insert.

How about a picture of those two with your gen LV?

Noobs are great watches, and are capable of looking very close to gen. If you want to jump the fence and get anal about accuracy, a gen construction watch is the path you want to take. I've been wearing my Noob SSD for some time now, and love the hell out of it. But my Franken TW/TT Sub gets the nod for my favorite watch, and the most expensive one too. Start with a Noob Sub and wear it a while, decide if you want to mod it or keep it as it is. Once you start modding a watch, forever will it dominate your destiny.....

Life on the forums would be a lot easier if one could search 3 character words. If you wanted to, for example, search all threads with MBW in the title, it is impossible.

Anyone know where i can get a noobmariner whit an asian clone 2836 or a swiss 2836?? I cant seem to find it... I can only make a mess in my head and can't find a good and not ultra expensive watch...

I'm waiting for a 116610 from perfect clones... It has a 2813 movement, and i would like to get one whit the 28800bph movement, but the TC sub-C dont look as good as the one i'm waiting... The pearl is really of center... And it seems they are all like this...
Can someone give me some help on that?

For straters, TC doesn't offer the 116610 Sub-C (but yes, it seems the TC insert needs improving.)
As for a Noobmariner with 2836-2... TimeShop is a great place to start . These used to be offered as a Promo for like 168.00 or so...perhaps other dealers offer this at a lower price.........??

Have some fun in your search and good luck...you'll find exactly what you're looking for here on the Forum. :)
