Can any RePaneristi tell me what font is used by Panerai?

Panerai uses Copperplate on the pre-v models. Hope this helps a little even though it isn't quite what you asked.
Sorry, i'll be more specific. What font is used on the dials? I'm talking about the "Marina Militaire" on a 217 or "Radiomir Black Seal" for instance.

I think Copperplate is close, but not quite right.
In DSN's thread about his 201/A dial project on RWG, there is a bunch of talk about the font used. I think it was some iteration of Helvetica.
That applies to the Pre-V models only, though. I have no idea what font the modern PAMs use.

I'm putting together a couple of custom projects, I've just had Joe PVD a Radiomir case and the 6497 mechanism parts so it's all PVD and it looks amazing. Fleed has made me up some dark lume for the hands and numerals, but I want to make a completely original dial, based on the Panerai sandwich dial, but with different numerals and text
I was thinking about making up a completely new dial for it with some other text but I wanted it to still have the same feel as a Panerai. Hence why I'd like to use the same Font - I'll be doing the initial designs on Auto CAD and then either making them myself or getting a professional to do it if cutting out the numerals is too tricky for me (I think that will be very difficult to do properly)
I know exactly what I want in my head, so hopefully the real thing will look something like that.

According to someone in that 201/A dial thread on RWG, something like "Helvetica Neue" is very, very close to the Pre-V font, if not the same. If you're going for that look, that would be a good place to start.

Well it's somewhere over the Atlantic to London at the moment as Joe has only just sent them, but he sent me these pics of the case and I'm really excited. I shall post some pictures in a few weeks when it's all put together (if it looks good that is!!)
I built the font that I believe davidsen is using on his newest dials. It's Sveningsson with a lot of love
