How do you feel about the thickness of these watches? I love the dials but they are listed at 18mm thick...which seems pretty thick! How do they actually wear? Is it the thickest watch you own?

For me my 438 is one of my top watches though I have a small wrist. IMO some Planet Oceans look far thicker.

Do you wear it with the bracelet or on a strap? Got any wrist shots?

It wears great -- make no mistake its a big watch, but that's the point, right? The ceramic material is light and its comfortable to wear all day. Snatch it up while you can as in 5 years I betcha it will be a grail watch for many people.

Thanks

tr573 it actually doesn’t look as thick as expected. Looks like a typical 15-16mm watch from your pics.

Bear in mind , my arms/wrists are not what you would call dainty. Here's a side by side in the same spot on my wrist at the same angle w a PO cal 9300 and a Deepsea, so you can see how it looks compared to two well known uh.. "beefy" thick watches.

Thanks for these. I noticed before that you did not have “dainty” wrists. And from this view it almost looks like you’re wearing these around your ankles. :D

I still think it looks less than 18mm tall which is a great thing.

marco130 that bracelet looks a bit tight on you? Or is that just the position to take the pic?

It was tight. Got caught between holes. When it was loose it would tend to spin on the wrist

Just got mine today. This thing looks and feels incredible. But can anyone tell me how to set the GMT hand?

Pulling out the crown to the first position, pushing the crown toward 12 will set the date, pushing the crown toward 6 will move the GMT hand.

This is gen function movement . Gmt hand is not independent, the hour hand is. So set the time for the second time zone with crown full out , then set the local time hour with it halfway out. Date moves when you set the local time hour ahead forward 24hrs. It's made so you can adjust the local time quickly when traveling but date setting is a pain

Thanks but I’m not sure what exactly you mean by “pushing the crown toward 12”. If I try to push the crown at an angle it just goes back to the 0 position. I can’t push the crown “up” either.

He meant turn it clockwise /counterclockwise . But this movement doesn't work that way anyway, see my post

Ok I understand now. Thanks! I also saw that you can hide the gmt hand under the hour hand if you don’t need gmt function.

Is there any concern with wear on the gears by advancing the date 25 days via turning just the hour hand? The hour hand kind of jumps each time which makes me a little nervous.
