Anyone familar with these watches?

www.cwcwatch.com

I am a memeber at a military watch forum and they're pretty ga-ga over these....including some of the vintage-era pieces.

The watches look pretty nice...I especially like this diver:

I've seen the name loads of times, especially in military references. Probably same as you. Just doesn't do anything for me. Just looks like a PVD'd Seiko.

I had one before. The case is well made and the crown screws down very smoothly. This watch is to replace Rolex for British Royal Navy I believe. I sold mine because it look too much like my Omega Seamaster.

Will I buy again? Sure, but with ETA 2824-2 movement. The quartz movement is accurate but the second hand doesn't always hit the second markers. This drives me nuts! :)

I've got that exact watch, Trandy. It's the CWC SBS diver. The watch is solidly made. I don't have the issue with second hand falling on the marks. The crystal is flat mineral and protrudes up just a bit beyond the bezel. Because of this, I think the crystal will end up taking some good hits and need to be replaced after a few years of use. The dial / lume looks great in person, but doesn't glow as brightly as my Seiko Monster. All in all, I think it's a great watch, but I think the CWC G10 is definitely a better value. You can get those G-10s anytime you want for about $100.
