Cable Company treating me like an ex girlfriend

Weird analogy, but true. I had been with the same cable company for over 4 years, with the bill rising and rising almost monthly (with no "premium" channels, mind you) till I realized that my monthly cable will was almost that of a small car payment.

Did some homework and switched to a different provider a few days ago.

Now, lo and behold, the old cable carrier is blowing my phone up. I have caller ID, and don’t answer if I don’t know you. Had one number keep popping up, and looked it up online, finding out it was the old cable company's number. A second number was also calling, but with less frequency, so I answered and...it was another number calling from the same cable company, wanting to know why I switched.

This is just like when I was in high school and dumped the beyoach that had been treating my like azz for a while. Same behavior. She called me for the longest, asking what she had done wrong and how she could fix it.

Just weird how life is. Now I will tell my son when he starts complaining about how his girlfriend is treating him that this is life preparing him to deal with the cable company.

I dumped cable a couple of years ago and never looked back. In fact, I don't even have a TV anymore. Best decision I ever made.

Time Warner will give you just about anything now, actually any Internet provider, you ask and they'll give it. They are scared shitless. After years of running a monopoly at 97 percent profit margins without having to invest anything in service improvement leaving America among the last countries in Internet speeds, now there's a new player, Google Fiber. Google offers services no other provider is able to with their old infrastructure at prices no one can match. They are loosing massive amount of customers to Google Fiber. And the best part is that Google is in it to offer better Internet service and not so much profit, their big chunk of profits comes from cloud computing and other Internet services but for those to work they need a good, reliable infrastructure, so they started building theirs. Hope they keep expanding their network and not use this just as a strategy to get Time Warner off their ass to upgrade their network.

I used to have Comcast with similar experiences but way worse. Their customer service is the worst in the world. Now I have fios and could not be happier.

Verizon makes comcast customer service look like 5 star service.

Usually if you call to cancel, the cable company tries to give you something to prevent it.

Here in my little hick town. There is one family owed biz. That runs phone cable and Internet all in one. There is no options at all. The mayor of this town has everything wrapped up.

I live in Chattanooga tn and we have one of the fastest Internet in the world available(1 GB up/down ) by local city owned utility. Their slowest offering is 50 Mb up/down. It's on fiber optic. You should see how much asskissing is Done by Comcast, charter and AT&T. These somsobitchs have robbed Americans blind for years. I hope there will be a day whole America can tell them to go f themselves as I have. F u Comcast.
