I purchased one the other day and I saw a thread on here where a poster stated the TD advised it is no longer produced. Can any confirm this for sure? If this is the case and I am not interested in the 40mm, what are some suggestions? The 40mm seems way too big to me and I usually wear that size in a round watch. I really do not want to settle on a size I don't think is right.

I would ask one of the TDs. They are the ones who can give you the best answer on what is available and what is not.
There are also other factories you can consider, such as 3KF, AF, etc., if you’re having trouble finding one from BVF.

Yes, the BVF is still being sold.

For what it's worth, I have a 8-1/4" wrist, wear REALLY big watches sometimes, but in regard to Cartier, I think the Santos Medium in 35mm is most balanced. Keep in mind, the original 1980s Santos Carree, Ref. 2960, as worn by Gordon Gecco in Wall Street, was 29 x 29 and it is as much a flex as a Rolex Day-Date on a President bracelet.

To clarify, that solid gold Santos Carree above is not my watch. It's one of my grail watches, but I can't justify spending $25K on a watch. The most I spent on a watch is $5K, and that's incidentally also a Cartier.

I would jump on a solid gold Cartier Santos Dumont if I ever found one used, for a really great price. Until then, I enjoy quality replica watches bought at a fraction of the price all the same. That's why this is such a great hobby!

Damn you have a big wrist. That Cartier looks amazing!! I have a 7 inch wrist and I usually wear 40/41 mm round watches like a Sub. The Santos 40mm just looks too big. I, like most, struggled with which size I should get. I am hoping it doesn't wear too small for me. I have searched high and low wrist pics with people that have my size wrist. Seeing this I am sure it will look great! Thanks for posting!
