Buying my first PAM, what do you guys think!!

hi, all I joined this board just recently and I'm about to make my first pam purchase. I have spent the last two weeks browing and researching thru this board and many others and managed to narrow it down to these two:

tell me what upyou guys think? I contacted davidsen and it seems the PAM 111H I wanted is out of stock, so should I wait for daviden pam
or go with josh's?

As for your PAM purchase, well, From what I read around the forum both dealer have ups and downs.
Davidsens will definitely come with better lume and the cannon pin fix. The Josh one you posted does not have the pin fix...


What's 'cannon pin' fix, you say? Read in the PANERAI forum and find out

both watches are great. I have the 177 and looking to acquire the 111 however not from Josh as in the VIP area well be able to get them for less, asian mov though. You dont see the VIP because you need to donate to get access to it. The 177H is one of the best pam reps out there. Davidsen has a good deeal on the with with cannon pin fix and lume anmd swiss movements. Other dealers dont usually do these mods but it can be done afterwards if they really buy you.

thanks for the welcome greet and the help from the above members responding. With a bit more research, I am def going to order a Pam for davidsen, either a PAM 111H or a Pam 177H, the problem is the 111h is out of stock and he won't have any until end of May. I also like the PAM 177h so it the 111h worth waiting, i just hate waiting.

its worth the waiting but the 177 and the 111 are the same. The one thing that is different is the 177 is titanium.

i have davidsen's 111 and think its fantastic. all in all a very nice piece. just make sure he sends you spring bars. mine stripped immidiately after i tried to change straps.

thanks all for the additional help, well it looks like I will have to bare with the wait till the 15th of May for Davidsen to restock,
one more thing is there other things I should get davidsen to mod other than the superlume and the canon pin?

i quess whatertested, geniuine shaphire crystal and personally dvsn checking of every pam that gets shipped. There is little probability of getting pam with a loose CG lever or whatever else might be bad
Davidsen is the man to get you your best Pam. Besides that hes seems to be the only dealer that works on his pams to become more perfect they are now

i just joined after having the same delima... i want to buy a panerai although i'm not sure which one. right now i like the 177h but it's a bit expensive. is there a way i can get the same look yet pay less? isn't the 005 a good starter??

ok, im going to be honest then. i dont want to spend more than $150. i want to get a decent watch that i dont have to spend too much money on, and i can still like...preferably swiss mvt. however, i have been reading up on people digging the asian mvt's, so there's another thing to think about.
