I’m traveling overseas this week and might consider buying a GEN from a PAM AD.
How are prices in the US compared to EU?

Ive been wondering how the AD prices are as well. i know a lot of references lose some value almost immediately - at least over retail - so I haven't really given much thought or serious consideration to an AD.

In US, we have sales tax that inflates the cost of the watch. AD for sure will tax you.

Gray market shops like Jomashop or Watchmaxx usually offers gens slightly below market price and no sales tax.

Boutique likely won’t offer a discount, AD I’ve heard anything from a free strap (~$400) up to 30%. I think the norm is around 20 from an AD.

I’ve heard 30% as well. I can’t remember where though, may have been Archie, but yeh - boutiques won’t discount.

There were a few threads on TRF discussing it in length. Honestly if I were in the Gen PAM market I would buy from an AD if I could secure that 30% off, otherwise buy secondhand in almost new condition for a decent discount as well. But the 2 year warranty will likely have expired if even still applicable with the secondhand option.
