Buying first PAM

Hi all!

As you can see in my post numbers, I'm new here but I have been seen the forum and triying to learn from the great post of the experts of this forum.
Well, the fact it's that I'm sure that I want a Panerai (or a Marina Militare) but I still don't know what PAM, how much spend and where to buy and I create this thread to ask for a little help.

About the money, my budget is about 200 $ and I have seen that there are watches for that price, even much cheaper (the one of Priceangels). So I have one questions in this point, does the watch of PriceAngels worth it? It cost 60 $ and I would like to know if it is a good watch for that price and if spending a little bit more in another watch of other site I will get a much better watch.
http://www.priceangels.com/Fashiona...-winding-Mechanical-Watch-for-Men-s95639.html

I also see that there are Panerai homages called Marina Militare and all the forums I have visited recommend http://www.manbushijie.com/ , I think the guy of the site is called Mr. Gong. I was specially interested in this model http://www.manbushijie.com/productshow-684-3.html , but I'm totally open for suggestions or recommendantions, that is the point of the thread.

And finally, I have seen that there is a Trusted Dealers section in this forum, but as I have seen, most of the Panerai that they sell are around 300 $ and I have the idea of spending, at most, 200 $. Any recommendation for buying a PAM for that price?

By the way, I just fall in love with this PAM, the 386: http://www.puretime.co/product/pam3...t-edition-on-brown-asso-strap-p9000-movement/
but it's a bit expensive :p, is there any cheaper option? If there isn't, try to convince me to spend that money in the watch :D

Thank you very much!

A pam 005 is a good starter ..

Or there are many 2nd hand watches in the sales thread ..you could find a gem sometimes at a good deal .

Hope it helps

PriceAngels? You joking, right?

The point of the thread is to clear my doubts. I've seen in this forum a couple of threads of the Panerai of PriceAngels so I don't think to asking about it it's out of place. Of course I know that a watch of 60 $ can't be better than a watch of 300. The question is that if that watch is 5 times better as its price says.

The Noob 111v3 is one of the best out there. Many times better than a $60 version. Get yourself one of these-----> http://forum.replica-watch.info/vb/showthread.php/pcteam-pam-111-115770

You'll be happier, overall.

I would rather spend a bit more to get Getat's MM than Price Angel Pam.

I just got my first PAM this week. I bought a used PAM 243M for around $200. Just put it on for the first time today. I have always been a Rolex guy, but I really like this 243.

Toro has a begginer Pam 111. I would recommend that. I would read about different TDs before buying

Do not buy any 'beginner' crap. If you are already part of this community spend some time reading and researching the reviews. Just a couple of years ago, or less, this was a different PAM rep world. You are lucky to arrive now....., my recommendation? Buy a closed caseback like the Noob 005n, or the H 61d, or the KV 417...depending on your preference. Welcome to the hobby.....

I myself would say go for the one you fell in love with!
Wait a little and spend a little more, or you'll end up not being satisfied, and eventually you'll buy "the one" anyway (so why waste the money by settling?)
Having said that it is v. Wise to ask here for advice and also doing research.

I would say:

1- decide which pan you want
2- research your options, dealers, prices, etc.
3- when you are ready, pull the trigger

Eg. I have finally decided that I will buy a 359. Now I'm looking at WHERE to buy that.

I like to research so much before I buy that by the time I'm ready to purchase I will have saved up enough money anyway! :) :p

Good luck with your purchase!

So definitely I discard the idea of buying from PriceAngels. I'll take into account your recommendations and advises (I think Francesco convince me :p) and I will read and investigate a little bit more in order to choose the best option.
Thank you so much for your help and your welcomes!

He he he... same for me here!
And I chose the same model (PAM 359).
For info, I took it from KW as it really seems a step beyond. Waiting to see in person!

Hi Agente0
Welcome to RWI from Spain

I would recommend you don’t spend money in cheap replicas. In the near future you will get disappointed and you will have lost your money
Better save money and start a fun searching with all possible options
Then buy a Super replica and enjoy it !!

If although all above recommendations you want still to buy a cheap replica go to Beginners models of TORO.

Good luck

Thank you Ale! As I've seen in my researching about PAMs in this forum, you are one of the experts of Panerai, so I will follow your advise.

Saludos desde España también!

One question about SS DLC coated watches. I've read that the coat of the watch can take off after using it for some time, is it right? I mean, I supose if you don't care about the watch, eventually it will have a lot of scratchs , but taking care of it too? I'm speaking about a top quality rep, as the one I posted on the OP from puretime.
