I'm looking at both the 111 and the 312. I'm wondering what the different aspects of these watches are that would influence my buying decision. I know that the case designs are different, and that the 312 has a date display. I like that the 312 is automatic, but I also wonder which movement of the two is typically more problem free. Also, which one would you say is more accurate? Any other general opinions on how these two compare to each other?

I've heard of problems with A7750 movements, but I don't know how the manual wind movements used in the 111 compare, more or less robust? I'm just wondering which movement will give me the least hassle:thinking:

They are so different.

You can't compare them. Both are great reps anyway..

Hand winding movement is tougher as far as I know than any auto movement (thats what I've been told so many times...). Automatic movements need service every 3-4 years I think...

But 111M movement is not high beat movement so it's loud and annoying....

As you said.. different case, different dial , different movement...

Get both !!

Yeah get both! One thing to note, 1950 case is much more chunkier. It really sticks out on the wrist.

Reason for this seemingly random comparison is because I want to buy them from someone in CONUS, and they happen to be available in the sale section. I like both of the models equally, both have their strong and weak points I guess. I've heard that the A7750 movements can be problematic compared to a simple automatic, but I don't know how it compares to the manual wind movements. And the noise factor is another consideration.I'm just wondering which one will give me less hassle.

The tick is so loud you can't sleep at night with the watch near on your bedside table.
You need to put it on a watch case far from you.

I do not consider it to be loud, the low-beat in the titanium 176/7 is much louder ....

Good to know, I was thinking about buying one of the new M series. Might need to reconsider. Not that I don't believe there is a ticking issue but everyone has said how great the watch is so far. I need to look for some reviews on this one.

I kinda like the loud ticking sound though.

It's really not an issue... Just because all low beats movements tick loud.

177, 318, 005, 176, 112... all are awesome watches!
