Busted crown? Help!

I just recieved a very nice panerai from an esteemed member of this forum, however, the crown is not fastened to the movement. When I pull the crown out to set the time, the whole crown and stem come out of the watch. Is this a simple fix? I really don't want to have to send the watch back, as I am excited to finally have it in my hands. It is a palp crown if this makes any difference.

sound like it ay have come unscrewed from the stem. otherwise the stem of the crown may have broken.

well that tells you somebody can't install palp crowns worth a s*&t for starters

I assume it's a 210 or 183 or something without a crownguard if you are holding it in your hands?
Is the stem still attached to the crown?

Or stem set screw is loose...if you have a 6497 movement.
