Buff 15202 with Gen CALIBRE 2121

BUFF (of 5711 dial fame) is offering a 15202 build with a gen cal 2121. Price quoted is 80 000RMB or around 12.5k ( typo corrected) USD

While obviously a super high price for a rep, for this amazing gen moment its more interesting.
There is a cal 2121 on Chrono24 currently for over 20K USD, so is this a great deal or a bad idea?
I Believe their price also includes Gen Dial. Its also alot of money to spend with a none TD...

Any one have any thoughts or insights? Have shared the pictures from their we chat

Why would you EVER pay $125k for a rep? If you have that kind of money, you can likely buy the gen.

Authentic cal2121 they are selling for around 5000usd, this one at chrono is overpriced it will never sell

The aftermarket white gold 1:1 hands they are using are going for 720usd

Was hoping buff had dropped a gen spec dial to match the WG hands that they offer.

I personally don’t care for gen movement in a rep - at that price point. Feels like a dumb thing to procure.

God knows what one will do when a movement part is needed at time of service.

This is an awful deal. Not only is that asking way more than a 2121 is worth, it isn’t even the right 2121. The 2121 used in the current 15202 is the successor to the 2121-1. That’s a K2121.

I have seen the hands in person and they are not gen spec. They look strange at best, and the center base is completely wrong. The hand base size is improved, and finishing is also a lot better than the ZF/ZF ones, but the hands are definitely not 1:1 gen spec. Not a bad build overall but not worth USD12.5k.

the movement shown is the right stuff for a watch produce between 2012 and 2016.... Legend is right , the hands are absolutely not 1:1 ....

the dial on the 15202 is machined and brushed with different layers of color. it doesn't have sunburns effect like the Patek 5711 for example. This makes the watch extremely legible compare to the Patek (5711) or rolexes (hulk/yachtmaster). Instead, the dial color is very wide and deep, and it is changing color ( according to the angle of view) from dark grey too turquoise.....

I am nowhere close to be an expert, but i do have the feeling that they use different layers of different colors (you can see it from the close up shot of the previews page) and perhaps this is what makes the dial color changing when the view / light angle is changing (under sunlight)...
