And so I did it.Ater the headsup from DWSmoot (thanks bro!) about the scotch brite pad,I decided to give it a go.It was a relatively quick process (just about under an hour) and pretty painless as well. The end result was way better than what I expected.

I was very close to brushing the case as well then I realised theres no way I would wear the Navi with the SS when I go out as it looks 1000 times better on a leather strap. The SS band is great for taking photos and all but I cant see my Navi with it on the wrist. There are many watches that look great with SS bracelets but I dont find the Navi to be one of them.Anyway this brings my Navi one more step closer to looking like the gen.

looks good, but you are one step away from getting that gen look.

From a friend I met here - Mothers Wheel Polish. It will transform your band better then any pad, cape cod cloth, dremel, wd-40, mineral oils, whatever. You can buy it at any auto store and it is like magic. Rub a little on, buff it in, buff it off, rinse with water and your watch will look its best ever!

I use it on my rollies, pam's, omega, breit and its amazing.

Many thanks for sharing, guys. I have a Navi from Trevor due in tomorrow and now know what to do. I checked out some photos of a gen Navi and the band on machine's looks damn close. Nice work!

thanks rainguy.if u r planning to use navi with the ss band then i suggest u brush the case as well.u can put masking tape on the crystal, crown and pushers.

Good advice, machine, re masking tape. That's what I'll do, though I'm on board with you that the black croc strap is the best look (by far) with this watch, and I already have one sitting here waiting for the watch to arrive. Still, I plan to wear it with the ss band, too, so I'm eager to buff it out for the brushed look. What a huge difference that makes!

WOW! Great work on the brushing. Now I have to try it with some of my SS bracelets.

Excellent job. Looks much more accurate now.

As much as I love Navitimer the highly polished bracelet was never really my thing... the Serie Speciale version with brushed case & band is way cooler.

Agreed, it looks much closer to the gen now. Good job.

I have a SS bracelet for my Navi that I have never worn. Since I started collecting reps, I now prefer leather, so I bought a gen strap.

To loosen your bands links so it moves freely, soak it in a good oil (I use gun oil) for at least three hours. Wrap it in plastic wrap and move each link a few times every half hour. When done use dishsoap and a soft toothbrush along with the hottest water your hands can stand to rinse. Smooth as butter after, you will not believe the differance.

because I am a noob, I have to ask.

Every gen breitling that I've seen, except for the cheaper models, have a shiny as hell bracelet on them. Is it just this model that is supposed to be "less shiny"? Thanks

FYI, the special fighters edition, which is what this is, should have a brushed bracelet, but the reps come polished.
